Chapter Text
He never really knew how to express his emotions correctly. They came out of nowhere and everywhere all at once. He rested his head on your lap while you sat, the soccer match playing on the TV while the room stayed calm and quiet.
He was grateful for having you. You accepted him for who he was, despite him being someone who couldn’t express his love properly. That alone made guilt settle in his chest,
even if he couldn't admit it to you.
During the toughest moments of his life, he would break his stuff, or go completely silent. He would never show you, perhaps he was embarrassed, but he could never.
Even if that meant he would also never ask you for help, for all his sorrows.
He couldn’t focus on the match anymore, not when your fingers began ruffling through his hair as you watched with him. His thoughts drifted elsewhere. He wanted to repay you somehow, to show you how much he truly loved you.
But somehow, you were always there. Staying by his side, grounding him even when he couldn’t decipher or make sense of the emotions that loaded his heart. He wasn’t even able to ask you for support, yet you stayed, and he still didn’t know why you’re still with him in the first place.
He buried his face into your thighs, making you squeal.
“Hieek—what are you doing, Rin?”
“…Nothing.” He pulled away gently, and sat upright.
You tilted your head at him.
Rin abruptly asked. “Do you want anything?”
He immediately thought he sounded too blunt right now. He wanted to be subtle, to show he cared without outright saying it. But he also couldn’t stop himself from wanting to know what you wanted, from wanting to know you better.
“Oh, well… I just wanna rest right now, I guess.” You hummed, leaning further into the sofa.
But you were already resting. He pouts a little. He wanted to help, but you were already helping yourself.
Maybe that was what he lacking in a way. Your cup was always full — overflowing with morale and love.
Rin’s cup, on the other hand, was only half full. Most of it had been received from you, from what your overspilling cup spilled over to him.
“What else?” His tone turned firmer, more demanding. As if demanding you to just let Rin assert himself over you.
“Oh, hmm… maybe I wanna go to sleep?” You paused. “Are you sleepy, Rin?” Your voice sounds soft, or rather monotonous.
“Oh.” He echoed. “Is that all you want?”
You finally caught on to his persistence.
“Oh!” You repeated, although you didn’t really know what you wanted.
Maybe a new foundation? Hmm, what about a chocolate? Since Valentines is coming up? Also two plane tickets to Spain…
Your eyes landed on Rin’s lips.
You smiled.
“Maybe a kiss…” you answered without hesitation.
“Oh,” Rin replied after a long pause.
Your smile widened, eyes squinting as the atmosphere grew slightly awkward.
“Is that all you need?” he asked.
You tilted your head, eyes opening.
“Yea—”
He leaned in suddenly, catching you off guard as his lips collided with yours.
You stumbled back, barely catching yourself with a hand on the cushion.
“Hmp..-” You closed your eyes, resting your palms against his back.
The room filled with soft, high-pitched chuu sounds.
You accidentally bit his lip when the nerves kicked in, feeling your face grow hot every second.
The two of you didn’t really mind going further, though.
He parted his lips, and you followed naturally, kissing him with the same vigor.
Your tongues brushed together, hands clutching at his back, your legs wrapping around him.
A noise could be heard echoing nearby. You assumed it was your heartbeat thudding fast. Until it ended up being Rin’s phone ringing.
Your eyes opened, glancing over his phone while Rin kept kissing you.
You pulled away, pressing a hand against his chest, which was heaving heavily.
“…Rin. Ego is calling,” you sighed, pressing your other hand to your own chest, trying to calm your heart. You loosened your legs around his hips.
He looked stunned before glancing at his phone and declining the call.
“Wait… why’d you end it? Isn’t he your manager?”
“Whatever he's calling me for—it’s not really as important as what’s happening right now.” Rin rolled his eyes.
“That’s your career on the line, you know.” You relaxed your shoulders.
“Huh. So?”
You narrowed your eyes, suddenly feeling tired, nearly sinking into the sofa.
He suddenly hugs you, and your eyes widened in surprise.
You patted his back. “You’re a bit clingy today,” you smiled, whispering. "So cute."
He pressed a kiss to your neck, leaving soft trails.
You hummed, breathing in his scent.
“I like you. A lot,” he admitted. “Like… a lot.”
You tilted your head, noticing how red his ears had become.
You stuttered, “…I—Is…” Unsure how to react, you let out a puff. It wasn’t like this was new — after all, he had confessed his feelings before, and you’d accepted him. Despite you being much more obvious about your feelings back then.
You pout, feeling a bit embarrassed for his sudden affection.
“Well… yeah! I know. I like you too.”
He leaned closer, burying himself in your neck — your touch, your scent.
He liked how you grew interested in soccer after meeting him. He liked how passionate you were about the things you liked. He liked spending time with you in the apartment, playing horror games and watching them together. He liked inviting you to his house and find you comfortably sleeping in his bed full of his scent. He liked when you would wake up earlier than him when he would sleep over your apartment, too shy to let him be in the same bed as you.
He liked the ordinary life that came with being with you.
He liked how you had your unique quirks, he liked how you played music in the shower and hummed along sometimes. He liked how you came over to watch his games and supported him from the bleachers. He liked your lips, especially when you smiled, and your eyes — whether wide or squinting.
He liked when you would stay by his side while he's sulking, silently. He liked when you would look like you're on the verge of tears, but always managed to hide your sadness. He liked when you would try to keep your distance when he's mad, not out of fear, but acknowledgment. He liked when everyone else thought you were happy, despite your eyes telling the opposite.
He liked how you dressed. He liked how you would sometimes choose his outfits. He liked your voice when you talked about your day. He liked when you complimented his quiet voice. He liked when you arrived late to a date and your hair came messier than you intended it to be. He liked when you arrived early to a date looking all beautiful just for him.
He liked everything, he supposed.
And he supposed, that this, was what they called love.
He whispered, almost like a murmur, but also like a whimper.
“…I love you, baby.”
You felt his jaw move against your shoulder, you had been resting your head on his shoulder, staring at his ear that had been burning red over the past few minutes.
“I do too! I love you!” you replied too loudly and too cheerfully despite the proximity.
You suddenly felt your face getting hotter and hotter.
“Wait, what did you just call me?”
You covered your mouth instinctively as you backed away, perhaps to hide your surprise. Finally seeing his face that looked hilariously red as a tomato, eyes half-lidded and love-struck.
“Uh… oh. That was too much,” he muttered, staring fixed at your eyes. “I think?”
“No, no! Not at all!” you said quickly. “I’d like any name you call me, actually.”
“..Alright, then.” He shifted on the sofa. “I always wanted to call you something.”
You yawned, feeling even more sleepy after the make up sesh. Probably the rush of happy hormones causing you to feel drowsy.
Your emotions were all over the place now though. You wanted to sleep, but you were too excited. Not only were you filled with serotonin, you were also filled with dopamine.
So, why not act upon both?
“Rin, let’s move to the bed?”
He nodded and stood up. You followed, stretching slightly.
That night, two cups were completely full — with love. ♡
