“I forgive you”
That was the last Crowley and Aziraphale saw of each other. After months of being gone, off saving heaven or something of the like, Aziraphale was finally done. Finally, the second coming and any future armageddons avoided for certain, and he could step down from his position as supreme archangel and go back to the life he so wished he could’ve been living the whole time he was gone. When the angel arrives back at his bookshop, expecting Muriel to be there waiting for him, he instead finds a miserable Crowley who had spent the first half of his absence drinking away his sorrows and the latter half thinking about everything they had ever had between them. And the demon was angry, very very angry…chaos ensues.
