Work Text:
Asriel didn't want to go home, back to a town where his best friend was missing (and probably dead) and nobody knew how to talk to him anymore because they were so worried about upsetting him, to a home where his little sibling resented him for leaving for college and his mom was overbearing – but not nearly as overbearing as his dad, who was so desperate to prove his love that it was kind of cringy (but the house still felt incomplete without him).
But he couldn't keep putting it off, not without making things even harder. So, Asriel took a deep breath and stepped off the bus.
