Summary
Shane Hollander’s life runs on structure and the singular goal of making it to the NHL. Hockey is the one place where he is completely himself. Almost, anyway. When a stranger appears at his game and captivates him, Shane should know better than to get his hopes up. The unlikely nature of their relationship, partnered with the fact that he is leaving for war, makes Shane feel like he’ll have to fight twice as hard to keep him around.
Ilya Rozanov is leaving. Enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces since 16, he now faces his first deployment. He tried to not let it get to him, but the normally cool and collected Russian-Canadian can only hide so much. He is intrigued by a boring hockey player with beautiful freckles, and he starts to feel like he may have something worth coming home too after all.
