Summary
It's distracting, even more so than usual. Leaning closer, Alhaitham carefully observes his roommate’s face, laying the back of his hand on Kaveh’s forehead and cheek to gauge the temperature. His face was flushed and slightly sweaty, but he wasn’t running a fever. Alhaitham could feel a distant vibration under Kaveh’s skin, like he was trembling with fear, or—
“Kaveh.”
“W-what?”
“Are you doing it on purpose?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Kaveh huffs, shuffling his feet, averting his gaze. “Can you be quiet? I just want to watch the show, we can argue about this later—uhn!”
Alhaitham pauses; he had definitely not misheard that. Annoyed, he finally takes the remote and switches the television off, ignoring Kaveh’s complaints. Now, without the external noise from the show, he can hear everything with much more clarity. Buzzing.
