Summary
Sometimes Czerny wonders what the view must look like from where the noble audiences sit during his performances.
He knows they look at him like an exotic animal, but what does that entail exactly? What does that mix of disgust and admiration make you feel? Do they think he chose to become their little jester or do they understand it was something inevitable?
He doesn’t get much of a chance to go through such an experience. Save for watching auditions for his concerts, very rarely does he get to be the one in the audience seat. He understood he would never truly know what it’s like to be on the other side of the stage.
But maybe this was a good enough replacement.
