There was a soft pad of footsteps alongside the dampened, concrete pavement. Other passerby's rummaging through traffic.

It was a eventful morning for Rocket. Working as a author was no joke. With the constant demands from his superiors, going on headlines about his recent hits.

All what rocket wanted was to relax in his loft apartment. Nothing too luxurious whatsoever— Probably order some take out and call it a day.

He'd tighten the brown plaid scarf around his neck and made his way down the bustling crowd. Everyone had their own lives, jobs, struggle.

Yet- Rocket wondered what should he do? He cleared up his schedule even though his boss told him to go to these meet and greets or these cheesy jazz bars.

Maybe it was his appetite. Something sweet perhaps? It's been awhile too. He wasn't exactly the nicest person. Due to his rather thrash attitude and personality in general.

“ It won't hurt. ” Rocket murmured underneath his breath. He'd take out his phone and tried searching for some kind of decent bakery.

On his suggestion research- There was some kind of sweet name.. ` Lace & Loaf ’. Rocket simply stared at his phone screen. All the other's he went was either annoying or was too boisterous.

Rocket grumbled underneath his breath and walked his way down to the location. It wasn't far away since the city itself was hell.

*11:32 am.*

Rocket stood outside the bakery. It was well designed of course. With bright flowers adorning the brick wall that's painted with white- Two windows on either side, Patio tables and everything.

“ Not my kind, Necessarily.. ” Rocket muttered underneath his breath. He'd sigh heavily, He wasn't complaining either. It was better than all the other one's he so desperately attempted to visit.

Without a second to waste he'd walk over- pushed the door open and a small, silver bell rang from above. Indicating that someone came by.

Just from over the counter was a individual.. The person had beige like hair- a mixture of darkening blond. An overwhelming pair of red eyes. Their body was draped over a white buttoned shirt and some dirty brown slacks.

Alas, To top it all off was a apron with the bakery title. *` Lace & Loaf ’.* The individual's head would raise up almost instantly.

“ Good morning.! Welcome to Lace and Loaf's Bakery! My name is Sword, I'll be helping you today. ” Sword would greet to Rocket ecstatically. The wide smile and attitude which was a polar opposite to his!.

Rocket stood behind the counter that separated themselves. There was a small digital pad to pay and there was the cash register. Sweetness overflowing his senses.

In summary- He was overwhelmed as hell. He'd blink once- then twice. What should he say? He hasn't gone this mad since God knows when.

Maybe it was this person's no— Swords attitude. The wide smile and friendly welcoming. Or maybe it was something else.

“ Urhm. ” Rocket cleared his throat as he glanced up to the beaming menu that held a variety of options. He'll go with his regular. Yeah!. “ I'll take a brown coffee with sugar, and a dark chocolate cookie to the side.. ”

He'd explain his order while sword was already tapping her finger's down to the digital screen. “ That's great! Will there be anything else for you? ” She was heavily attentive- Unlike the other cashier's Rocket had to face.

“ No. ” Rocket answered flatly to remain neutral despite being swamped by this particular bakery's atmosphere. Especially their employees-.

“ Alrighty! We'll have your order out soon. Please take a seat as we prepare it for you. ” Sword spoke as she turned around and yelled out the order to some of the employees working in the kitchen room.

Rocket simply nodded.. Turned on his heel and took a corner seat near a window. Away from the other people that was all lovey dovey for whatever reason.

He'd go through his phone, occupied with his Facebook notifications and the constant spamming of his superior asking about his whereabouts.

“ These damn... ” just as rocket was about to utterly crash out– Sword soon came over with his order. “ Here you go! ” She'd offer with a wide smile. Overly friendly.

She'd settle down the small plate that held a large dark chocolate cookie and to the side was the steaming brown coffee with sugar.

“ Here's ya total.. ” She'd place the ticket to the side that has written Rocket's order and the purchase.

Rocket would murmur a small thank you as he began eating the dark chocolate cookie. It was warm and the sweet flavors was coating his taste buds.

“ At least they've good baking. ” He'd say as he soon enough finished it up and drowned it down with the sweet brown coffee.

Rocket would glance back over to the counter, Somewhat perplexed. *“Never expected to genuinely like a bakery.”* He'd think to himself.

With a heavy sigh he'd take out some cash and paid his share. While tucking a small tip. “ She wasn't half bad. ” He'd mutter underneath his breath while stuffing his phone into his work bag.

Sword soon came out of the kitchen after cleansing her hand's and saw Rocket coming out. She'd yell out in a audible tone— “ Have a good day! ”

Rocket glanced over his shoulder and grew instantly embarrassed. Moreover humiliated from what he's experiencing. He'd grumble out a small “ Yeah. ”

He'd push open the door and somewhat raised his hand soon left the bakery. While walking down the streets he'd silently curse underneath his breath.

“ Little minx. ” He'd scoff with a flustered countenance.
