Summary
He’s not wearing the glasses that he had started needing about ten years back, so he can’t really see the family well from where he’s sitting, but he makes out three faint outlines, the tallest outline hugging the shortest one tightly, for a long time. Eventually, the shortest outline goes inside, and the other two are left alone on the porch. They do not move, as far as Will can see, for a minute or so, but eventually, they seem to embrace each other, just for a moment. The shorter of the two goes inside, and the taller one starts to walk towards him.
It makes his stomach clench in the awful way it always used to.
Mike hops into the U-Haul, and throws himself into the seat, hard. He leans his head back into the headrest, and presses the heels of his hands into his eyes. He sniffles, a little pathetically. Will just sits there watching him, not quite knowing what to do.
Eventually, he puffs out a breath and wipes his face with his hands, then puts on his seatbelt.
“Ok, let’s get the fuck out of this place.”

After his divorce, Mike decides to move to Sacramento. Will helps him move.
