"Come on Will!" Jane said, putting on her backpack
Will groaned and threw his arms up, "Give me a second!"
"We are going to be late for school, one the first day!" Jane reminded Will
Will was already stressed out, first day of junior year, and Will was not excited, not one bit, but he had no choice
He grabbed his backpack, and quickly ran out of the room, "Bye mom! Love you," Will said, waving bye to his mom, "Bye honey, have a good first day," Joyce called after him,
Will went out to Jane's car, since Jane was a little older than Will, she got her license before him, she rolled down her window
"Come on Will!" Jane yelled, and Will started jogging, and opened the car door and hopped in, making sure to buckle
"Took you long enough," Jane muttered, and pulled out of the driveway
"Sorry," Will replied, and got on his phone
"You know, mom told you to leave that at the house," Jane said
"No she didn't, she told you because the last time you brought your phone to school, you started blasting Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne," Will responded
"What?! No I didn't, I thought my headphones were plugged in," Jane said
"Excuses, excuses," Will spoke, Jane rolled her eyes and stopped the car in a parking spot, Will grabbed his backpack and got out of the car, pulling it over his shoudler
Will almost screamed when he felt someone wrap their arms around him, "Jesus!" Will screamed and turned around, revealing Lucas, Lucas pulled away and started laughing
"Scare much, Byers," Lucas got out, Jane started laughing along
"You guys are such bullies," Will complained
Will saw Steve and Max approaching them, "Hey Byers!" Max called out, "Hey Max!" Will replied, and hugged Max
Jane went up to Steve and wrapped an arm around him, "Hey Steve!" Jane said, smiling
"Hey, Jane!" Steve replied
Will, Lucas, and Max started walking towards the school, Steve and Jane following behind them
The five teenagers went into the cafeteria, because Principle Anderson always holds a 'special announcement' every beginning of the school year
Will sat down, Max and Lucas sitting on either side of him, Jane sat down next to Lucas, and Steve sat down next to Max, Will pulled out his phone went through instagram, his head shot up when he heard a familiar voice
"Sorry I'm late," Chrissy spoke, Lucas scooted over, and Chrissy sat next to Will, " Hey Chrissy," Will spoke
Chrissy smiled at him and wrapped an arm around him, giving him a side hug
Will put down his phone as Principle Anderson started talking
"Good morning Hawkins High," The man spoke
"It is 8:00 in the morning, how could somebody be this happy?" Will whispered to Max, and she started chuckling, Will slapped Max's arm, "Stop laughing, you know what happened to Jason and his goons when they started laughing at Principle Anderson's speech," Will whispered
Max shook her head, "They got sent to the principles office," Will answered his own question
Max stopped laughing, but was still smirking
"I am not going to waste your time by giving out a long long speech, just wanted to list off the star students from last year because I didn't get to do it at the end of the year lats year due to..interruptions." Principle Anderson spoke and looked at Jason and his friends, "Okay, last year's freshman of the year was, drum roll please,"
The whole cafeteria irrupted with hands clapping against the table, "Annie Gunter!" Priciple Anderson announced
"Of course it was that prissy," Jane spoke, even though Annie Gunter was a year younger than the group of teenagers, she still hated her
"Last year's sophomore of the year was," Principle Anderson said, "Lucas Sinclair!"
Will, Steve, Max, Chrissy, and Jane started cheering, Will patted Lucas on the back, "Last year's
junior of the year was...Sasha Myers!"
"And finally, last year's senior of the year was..Hannah Muller!" Priciple Anderson announced
"Jesus Christ," Max groaned, "Of course it was a fucking cheerleader,"
Will rolled his eyes, "Get over it," Steve said for Will, Max rolled her eyes
"That is it students, have a good first day back, classes start at 9:00," Principle Anderson said, and walked away from the microphone, the cafeteria was loud now, freshmans, sophomores, juniors, and seniors all talking at once was agitating
"Dude, nice job Sinclair, I was expecting one of the Byers being student of the year," Steve spoke, Lucas shot him a death glare
"Aw, thanks Steve!" Jane said, Will pulled out his phone, and scrolled through apps, he felt someone looking at his phone
"What you watching Byers?" Lucas said, his chin placed on Will's shoulder
"Nothing, just random stuff," Will answered, shrugging
Lucas nodded, and pulled away from Will's shoudler, and started a conversation with Max
Loud groans come over the cafeteria when the bell rang, and honestly, Will was surprised by how they could hear the bell over the talking
Lucas sighed and sat up, pulling Max with him
"Well see you guys at lunch," Jane said, sounding exhausted already, Steve cracked his back
Will watched as Steve almost tumbled back, a giggle slipping through his lips, Steve shot him a look that screamed stop, but that giggle slowly turned to laughter
"Shut up Byers," Steve complained, and gently pushed Will's chest, Will pushed back, and Steve rolled his eyes
Will looked at his side but Lucas and Max were gone, "Well, gotta go to class," Will said in defeat, and picked up his backpack
"Bye Will!" Jane called after Will, Will waved to her and walked off to his first class, and of course it math

"Okay class, and that is the end of class," the teacher spoke, putting down the book he was holding and folded his hands together
Will stretched and picked up his stuff and headed to the door, other people infront of him or behind him, and he squeezed his way through the crowd and went over to his locker, putting his books in there, Chrissy walked up to him
"Hey Will!" Chrissy said and Will turned to her, "Hey," He answered
"You okay?" Chrissy asked
"Nothing, just that math is my first class, and it is so boring...I might start crying," Will spoke, and sped up his voice at the last sentence
"It's okay, I know math is boring," Chrissy said
Will wiped away invisible tears dramatically, and Chrissy laughed and interlocked their arms
"We have next class together," Chrissy said
"How did you know?" Will asked
"Jane told me your schedule, and your next class is science and so is mine..so we can be miserable together!" Chrissy said, the two teenagers walked to the class, making conversation

"Leave me the hell alone Robin!" Mike yelled smacking Robin in the arm
"Fuck you Wheeler," Robin said, and held the spot where the boy had just hit her, "Cut it out!" Eddie cut in, stopping the argument
"I have never met more childish teenagers," Dustin said, shaking his head
Mike rolled his eyes
"Lucas didn't even deserve to be student of sophomore year," Robin complained
"You don't deserve it either," Eddie spoke
"You know what, I think one of the Byers sibling deserved it," Robin replied
"No way, Will Byers? He is way to quiet," Dustin said, "I think Jane deserved it,"
"Of course you do, you have a fucking crush on her dick weed," Eddie said, Dustin rolled his eyes
"No, Will deserved it more," Robin argued, "He is actually polite,"
"How?" Dustin said
"Last year he ran into a locker, and apologized. A locker." Robin answered
"Yeah, well Jane is sweet too," Dustin said
"No she isn't, she started blasting Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne in history class last year," Mike butted in
"I heard Will and her arguing about it after the class was over and she said she just forgot to plug in her headphones," Dustin defended
Mike rolled his eyes, but a group of teenagers catching the four people's eyes, Steve's friend group
Time basically stopped when Mike locked eyes with Will
Eddie being the same when he saw Steve
"Ayo Munson, what you looking," Lucas shouted, smirking, Mike saw Will roll his eyes, and whisper something in Lucas's ear, Lucas's smirk slowly disappearing from his face
Mike knows Will told Lucas to stop
"Oh nothing Sinclair, just wondering how you got student of the year, and not one of the Byers twins," Eddie announced completely at a stop now
"We're not twin, dipshit," Jane said
"Ayo quiet Byers," Dustin announced, "Are you mute or do you not know how to speak up for yourself?"
"Shut up Henderson," Steve said, stepping close to Dustin
"Leave it be, Steve," Will said, and grabbed Steve's shoudler pulling him back
"That's it, Byers," Dustin teased
"Fucking leave him alone," Max said
"Or what?" Dustin said
"Dustin stop," Mike said, and pulled at Dustin's shoudler
"See you around," Eddie said and winked at Steve, Steve responding back with a middle finger
"What assholes," Lucas muttered and turned to Will
"You okay man, I don't know why Dustin was targeting you," Steve asked
"I'm fine," Will said, Max looked at him with a concerned look
"Will if you are not fine, I'll go beat the shit out of him," Jane said, Lucas smiled, causing Steve to smile
"Yeah, we could like gang up on him," Chrissy said
"No guys, it's fine," Will spoke, and chuckled
"If you say so," Lucas gave in and wrapped an arm around Will's shoudler, and the teenagers walked off to the cafeteria, ready to eat lunch.
