Chapter Text
Two time stares and the question on their paper; ‘What are you looking forward to this year at Robloxia high?’. They didn’t really know, to learn they guessed? They scribble that down on the paper. The next question asked; ‘What are your goals?’. Two time didn’t have any goals, maybe to try to make more friends, better friends, or perhaps a best friend? That’s somewhat of a goal. They scribbled their response under the question. Done. They get up from their chair and walk over to Mr. Shedlesky’s desk.
“Uhm.. Where can I hand this in?” Two time nervously asked the teacher.
“You can hand that in that bin over there..” The teacher pointed to a bright red bin on the tabletop across the room.
“Oh okay”
Two time makes their way to the red bin and drops their paper in. They sigh, they still had 20 minutes to kill in this classroom, and none of their friends (well more like colleagues) were in this class with them. They walk to their desk, lay back in their chair and examined the room. Mr. Shedlesky’s classroom was fairly decorated with past student’s work and inspirational posters, one of them saying ‘Hang in there!’. Two time found that one the most interesting because that was the only one that felt somewhat motivational. All the others ones were something like ‘You can always learn from your mistakes!’, which wasn’t so inspiring because of how useless and overused it was. They soon looked over to the other students who were still writing, they were concentrated, they all probably wanted to get a good mark on this, and Two Time was definitely not one of these people. They didn’t focus too much about school in general, they had a bunch of afterschool things that their friends claimed as ‘more important’ than whatever they were doing at school, and Two time believed that. They weren’t sure if it was right or not but it was the only thing that they could hold onto, something to follow. A chair moves from behind Two time and a boy gets up from that chair and walks over to the red bin to submit his work. He drops his paper in and turns around and walks to his desk. He was a tall guy with dark brown hair. He had a good build with strong looking arms, making him look a little intimidating. His dark purple eyes dart across the room until they landed on Two time. Their eyes locked, both mesmerized. The boy smiles at Two time before he grabbed his chair and moved it so that he could sit next to Two time.
“I caught you staring at me.. is there something up?” The boy chuckled.
“I..uh….no, nothings wrong.” Two time stuttered.
“I mean you look really lonely, and you have that look in your eyes that tells me that you’re lonely, so I moved my chair over here so that you wouldn’t be lonely”
“Ah, you didn’t have too…um” Two time paused, “mind if I ask for your name?”
“Of course, the name’s Azure.” Azure smiled while he outstretched his hand.
“Mines Two time.” Two time shakes Azure’s hand.
“Thats a strange name.. N-not to be rude of course.”
“It’s just a name that everyone calls me, I don’t really remember my real name.”
“Thats..sad” Azure comments.
“It’s not that sad as you think it is, I’ve gotten used to it now.”
“Oh.. Did I sound rude? I’m so sorry-“
“Don’t worry, you didn’t sound rude at all.” Two time cuts.
At that the break bell rings, signalling that class was over.
“Well it was nice talking to you Two time, maybe you wanna hang out at lunch?” Azure asked.
“Oh sure I won’t mind.” Two time responds.
“Alright.” Azure smiles, his deep purple eyes bleeding into Two time’s dark and shallow gaze.
He waves goodbye at Two time and walks out of the classroom, leaving Two time there by himself, with one new friend..or perhaps something more..

Two time waits outside, sitting on a bench by the large field. The field was pretty damaged, with patches of grass torn off the ground, and the rest of the grass that somehow was still holding on were dead. A cold wind also blew, making Two time shiver.
“Hey! Where’s your jacket?” Azure’s warm voice called out.
Two time turned around to see Azure walking towards them, wearing a jacket and a warm-looking hat.
“I didn’t bring one today, I wasn’t expecting it to get so cold..” Two time shuttered.
“In that case, take mine. I have a sweater underneath so I won’t be as cold as you are currently.” Azure laughed.
Two time hesitated, nobody has offered him something to borrow, usually things like that came with a deal. This was probably a secret deal or trade of some sort, Two time thought.
“What’s the catch?” Two time asks.
“What do you mean ’the catch?’ Im just offering you my jacket since you look pretty cold. There’s no deal, why would there be?” Azure questions.
“It’s just that nothing comes for free, especially when you’re offering me to borrow something that’s yours.”
“Well that’s because that’s a deal, and this is an act of kindness; from me to you.”
Azure smiled brightly while taking off his jacket and giving it to Two time. He handed it to them, and they hesitated to put it on. But then Azure reassured Two time that he needed to wear the jacket before they got sick, which convinced them to put it on.
“Its really cozy and warm..” Two time says as he wraps themself in Azure’s jacket.
“See? And now imagine yourself saying yourself saying no to something like this.” Azure chuckled.
“Yea, sorry for doubting you.”
“It’s okay, I know a random person that you just met today offering you their jacket can be a little weird.”
Two time turned to face Azure, their eyes locking again. Azure’s eyes looked even prettier up close. Different shades of purple mixed together in harmony, like those pretty Nightshade flowers that Two time sees when walking to school.
“Your eyes are pretty.” Two time blurted.
“Aw you think so?” Azure smirked.
“I uh- Didn’t mean to say that out loud..!” They look away, blushing.
“Oh, well I can say that your eyes are interesting to say the least. They look foggy, like something preventing you to let that light in eyes from shining.”
“Oh wow. That’s pretty deep.”
“Well, you can tell a lot from a person when you look into their eyes; some are bright and cheerful, some are foggy and sad.”
“Well I know for a fact that your eyes are cheerful.. And they have this warm, welcoming feel to them. Which definitely fit you.” Two time turned back around to see Azure’s face an inch away from theirs.
“Hmm whenever I get close to you, your eyes start to brighten a bit. Interesting..” Azure giggled.
Two time froze in embarrassment. I think Azure sees that I’m catching feelings for him before I can even realize, they thought. His deep purple eyes kept flooding into their head while the butterfly’s in their stomach started to stir. But then a loud buzzer rang, breaking the two friend’s eye contact.
“Oh wow. That was already 30 minutes? Well time really does fly when I’m enjoying it.” Azure says warmly.
“Oh yeah hold up Azure, I gotta give your jacket back.” Two time says.
“Keep it. You need it more than me Two time.”
“Oh no I don’t, please take it back. It’s yours after all.”
“Well if you wanna give it back you gotta chase me for it!” Azure laughs before sprinting away.
“Hey! Come back!” Two time shouts before chasing him.
They chased him all around the school, up and down the stairs, through the cafeteria, through the halls until Azure managed to lose him in a large crowd of people that were walking to their classes.
“Dammit..!” Two time panted before he gave up and went to their locker for their things for their next class.

Two time sat in the back of the classroom beside one of their colleagues, Amarah. They couldn’t stop thinking about their interaction with Azure. His eyes, his voice, his soft, dark brown hair, everything was perfect. He was way better than all the other ‘friends’ and colleagues they had.
“You seem very lost in thought, is there something bothering you?” Amarah asks with a pissed tone.
“Oh it’s nothing.” Two time sighs.
They didn’t really like Amarah. She was harsh especially with their ‘afterschool’ activities. She made them do things that they didn’t want to do, such as harming themselves for ‘the spawn’, which worshipping ‘the spawn’ was their afternoon activity. Some people thought it was very cultish and that they shouldn’t be involved with that group, but Two time had no other choice. Those were the only people they had, the only people to support them.
“Well if you say so.” Amarah rolls her eyes and continues writing down on the assignment that the class was given.
Then Two time sighed and dug their face into their work and got to writing.
