Power is often like ice; sharp but brittle.
The Arcane Order hold the power to level the world, to start over from scratch - a future which the current Guardians of Arcadia are doing all they can to avoid.
But how do you kill a demi-god?
The easy answer is; you don’t. The Guardians instead plan to drain the Order’s magic so there are no demi-gods to fight in the first place.

Skrael gets his magic stolen by the Guardians of Arcadia, reducing him to - essentially - your everyday mortal with the ego of an ancient, all powerful being.
