(XY - Revulsion)
When Lysandre meets L, he feels revulsion at first. Rapidly overtaken by pity and settling into dread. For this is the man he’s destined to become. The man he wishes not to be. He’s not beautiful, nor healthy, nor happy for the most part. Lysandre doesn’t believe there's any universe where he can be... Happy.
And yet, L’s one open eye possesses more life within than both of his forever open own.
Perhaps, it’s acceptance - a path to atone, that will give him some semblance of peace in this ugly world.
Perhaps, L lives in a fantasy even now...?
(RR - Desire)
When Lysandre meets L, he finally understands... Deep, deep down that this is how he’s meant to be.
The scars, the injuries, the one eye open to the world’s truths.
He finds L beautiful. He’s spellbound and lustful. He must have him. Or become him.
Lysandre longs to take a blade and crave in those pretty marks so they match perfectly; so he too knows the pain, the suffering, the true path to redemption. To see the world through L’s eye.
Lysandre wonders if he asks nicely, if L will indulge him.
Maybe in pain he will finally know peace.
(L - Guilt)
When L meets Lysandre, the him from years before, he feels overwhelmingly guilty. He witnesses the crushing weight of the world’s ills upon his shoulders right before his very eye. Pushing Lysandre into deeper, darker waters. This man's on the precipice, isolating himself in preparation for immolation. He needs someone to offer help...
But L isn’t sure his younger self would take it.
When L meets him - That warped creature—the man who succeeded, still longing for destruction—he wants to flee. Instead they stand, unblinking eye gazing into two maddened ones...
L reaches out,
And the man crumbles before him.
