Rozanov did have an incident in Russia before moving overseas, according to a former C2W trainee. I don't think most russian fans know about it (and how that would even affect his reception there) since it's very “through the grapevine” stuff, but it's been discussed here extensively thanks to the work of a certain “reliable source”.

The source was correctly identified as a former C2W trainee from Rozanov’s (& Shane Hollander’s, et al) class. However, the information came from a forum user who claimed to have talked to this former trainee, and that itself (or the contents of the talk) might be false or exaggerated.

Match was mid but mostly because Tommy Stomper sucks and Karma is an old man with no cartilage in his knees anymore. Rozanov was good. Had something interesting going on with HDI. Pollo Man was great as always.
I have a good feeling about Rozanov in Mexico. People get caught up in wishing his character was different and forget he's a really solid worker. He just needs a little edge to round his gimmick up and EGLL can give him that if he links up with the right people.

After the match, Scott Hunter came to the ring in a suit to announce his return from injury and challenge for the belt. Hollander accepted, and the two shook hands.

Working regularly for EGLL, but usually in their smaller shows, which don't get a lot of press and don't make it to tape. Look for him in the flyers for Monday shows on EGLL’s official site. He's usually in the second or third match.

Not a primary source on this, but they seem to like him fine. He stands out as a big guy who doesn't do big aerials or anything too flashy. Without a C2W “fan” talking their ears off about how much he sucks ass, people tend to see Rozanov for what he is: a fairly good, perhaps even great, wrestler.

smack1t, i’ll give you a warning since you might genuinely not know: this rumor of rozanov being banned from going to russia originates from another rumor that's basically slanderous in nature. it does not come from a credible source and could not be verified as true. every time someone brings it back up, the lie grows in size, so i, as an admin, will be cracking down with more severity on people who refuse to stop, with support from the anti-slander clause in our tos.

For future reference, the only time Rozanov discussed his life before becoming a C2W trainee with the public was in his debut interview at C2Day, which you can still read here. As you can see, all he says is that he's not in touch with his family and that they didn't approve of him either moving overseas or becoming a wrestler, or both. Everything else people claim to “know” about Rozanov’s life is likely to be false as none of the information contained in the thread that kickstarted this whole thing could be verified. That thread is still up, btw, if you want to read the original claims and how other users refuted them. Go look for it. (This applies to everyone, not just smack1t)

Asa Dorada Jr. comes from a traditional wrestling lineage. His mask was inherited from the most well known Asa Dorada (not the first to don the mask, but the one who wore it the longest) so it's too valuable to be lost so early in his career. Rozanov is an outsider. Even though he was trained by Karma (Asa Dorada Sr.’s brother/Jr.’s uncle in real life) when he first came to Mexico, he doesn't have real ties to any bloodline there, so there's no real stakes to him losing his hair other than he worked hard to grow it and nobody likes being bald.

Since it's usually the same twenty guys rotating sports at the Catedral every week, it'd make sense for him to stick to the smaller shows and arenas if that was really his goal. I was in the crowd for this show! Started kind of slow, but got really good from the third match onwards. Felt like Shane was trying to play heel at some points, did get some boos, but it was all in good fun. Huge pop for Scott getting out of the pin after Eureka. Made me think Shane might retire it as a finisher and stick to the shooting star double knee drop (which is still unnamed…)

I met him a couple of days ago at the airport hall and got a picture (which can be found in my blog, shameless plug hehe)
He was extremely kind to me, shook my hand, posed for the photo and we talked a little bit. I told him I was rooting for him to keep the belt against a Scott Hunter and he said smth like “thank you, Hunter was strong, but next time I’ll be even stronger”. The only wrestling merch I had on me was my Hayden logo hand towel, which he found very funny and signed without a problem! Total sweetheart in and out of the ring.

The trio of Carlos Villano, Motoki Kaneda, and Meriken Sax defeated Keita Nogami, Orochi, and Chisa Kawakami to win the Super 6-man Tag Championship!
The Kobe crowd watched on as a spectacle of violence and intensity developed in front of them. Villano Co., with their usual dirty tactics, wore out the veteran Orochi first, and soon put the powerhouse Chisa Kawakami out of action by taping her to the rail guards! Despite an attempt to help by other YA&KI members, it bought Villano Co. just enough time for Motoki Kaneda to hit Keita Nogami with the Saishuu Kaneganaru, pinning him for the win after the 18 minute mark.
Celebrations were cut short when the ring was stormed by the newest and most chaotic faction around, the Disorderly Crowd! C2W’s own Rozanov, joined by NWW’s talents Maksim and Lana Vetrova, cut Villano Co.’s celebrations short by beating all three members up and stealing the belts for themselves. Rozanov, then, took the mic to personally insult Villano, who he had a falling out in-ring during Boreal Wars, and officially challenge for the belts!

Yes, Ilya did get stabbed in Moscow when he was 18 years old, and yes, that's a scar from that time. No, he was not stabbed by ex-girlfriend. Yes, he has a family member involved in gang activity, no, the stabbing was not gang-related, Ilya was never involved in gangs for even one second, and not wanting to be involved in them is a big reason why he left. He himself chose not to tell even the police who stabbed him so the information is not public, but you can see about the incident in the papers, here (lower-middle-left), and here (upper-right corner). No, he was not in the brink of death, he walked to the hospital and got treated, then moved overseas as soon as he could. No, he's not banned from being in Russia or even Moscow, there’s no danger for him there anymore and it wasn't a big incident since he was a regular citizen. The story is not as fantastical as many would think. Just like sometimes family hurts family or neighbors hurt neighbors or strangers hurt strangers in small fights in America, that was how mundane the incident was.
Source is me, I am a childhood friend who helped him through the incident and facilitated his move. I can provide proof to mods through PMs or emails. Everyone else take my word and fuck off.

The Big Boss Rozanov has made a shocking return to his home promotion, after two years and four months abroad!
The second match of the Across the Borders Tour final in Montreal saw C2W’s young ace, The Genius Shane Hollander, facing former ally JJ Degenais. Hollander and Degenais, who were briefly active as a tag team in the past, had a falling out over Degenais harsh comments about Hollander’s performance in the Coast 2 Coast Cup, and settled the score in a special singles match with a 15-minute time limit. The face off was a clean battle of ideologies, with Hollander coming victorious, pinning Degenais with the Eureka at 11 minutes and 30 seconds.
Soon after the final bell, Hollander’s celebration was cut short, and the crowd was left astounded by the starting chords of Burning Blizzard! Rozanov walked into the ring to meet a very shocked Shane Hollander, and offer him a handshake – only to betray him at the last second, and violently attack him!
