    Summary

The first thing Izuku remembers being taught was the story of the goddesses— Astraia and Heliora, the suns of their system.

The story goes something like this.

Astraia, the calmer and older of the two, was once pursued by the god Pyrion, whose fire was said to be cruel and unrelenting. Fleeing him, Astraia ran until she could run no farther— until she collided with Heliora. Heliora caught her without hesitation, and together they spun, pulled into motion by the force of their meeting.

They did not stop spinning after that.

It was only when nearby planets began to burn that the two goddesses were forced apart. To save the system, they separated— bound to their own paths, their own lives. Now, they dance in a slow, endless circle, drawing close only when the universe allows it.

Of course, there are more details than that. But that’s the short version.

Varkans often say Heliora was the strong one, but Lyrian records insist that Astraia was the reason the system survived at all. Heliora is strong, while Astraia is patient. That is why they are meant to orbit each other.
