Trouble Magnet

Summary:

Between rescues, shy hand-holding, and years of mutual pining, Izuku and Kirishima slowly find their way from strangers, to friends, to something much sweeter. In a world full of danger and noise, their love grows quietly— proof that even the gentlest hearts can find something strong to hold onto.

Sometimes love doesn’t happen in quiet moments— it happens between sirens, explosions, and a hero who refuses to let go.

Work Text:

“Are you okay?”

Izuku turned his head slightly towards the voice he heard calling after him. He couldn’t lift his head, trying to keep the tears at bay, though his sniffles probably gave him away.

“I’ll-” Izuku paused, considering his words before continuing, “I’ll be fine.” He used the sleeve of his burnt and slime covered gakuran to wipe the tears that escaped.

The other boy, who seemed to be around the same age as him, with black hair framing in his face, looked at him with concern. He took a few steps closer, using the sleeve of his own shirt to gently wipe at Izuku’s face. It made Izuku turn red, but at least the grime on him wasn’t spreading anymore.

“For what it’s worth, I think you did amazing out there.” The boy said, giving Izuku a small smile. “It takes guts to do what you did, and not everyone has that. I mean, look at the heroes that were just standing around.”

Izuku gave him a shaky smile. “I appreciate that,” he said, turning his gaze to the setting sky. “I’m Midoriya Izuku.”

“Kirishima Eijirou,” the boy replied, fixing the backpack strap over his shoulder.

Izuku glanced at him from the corner of his eye, not moving his head from looking at the sky. “I have to get home soon, I’m sure my mom’s worried,” he murmured. “I hope I’ll see you again one day, Kirishima.”

Izuku threw a wave over his shoulder as he turned to leave, but he was stopped by a sudden call from behind him.

“I’m going to be a hero.” Kirishima called, “Look out for Red Riot, okay?”

Izuku looked back, giving him the first genuine smile, one that crinkled at the eyes, “You got it, Red Riot. I’ll be watching, so work hard, okay?”

Life has many twists and turns that no one expects, certainly not one Midoriya Izuku when he winds up being a personal student of THE Nedzu.

The mammal had taken an interest in him from his answers to the analysis questions that were placed in the general education exam, and was soon accepted as that year's only student of the Support Course Analysis Track.

Izuku never really saw his analysis as becoming anything more than a hobby, but to his surprise he was actually good enough to warrant the attention of the hero in question.

He was training to be an information hero, like Nedzu and Sir Nighteye, though more on Nedzu’s side of things for the time being since he had no training at all. Izuku had given up on being a hero after meeting All Might, so he never tried to train.

Nedzu and Aizawa were working on getting him able to at least defend himself if he ends up in a situation where he would need to fight. The 1-A heroics teacher had been giving him pointers and training him at times, since he was more versed in quirkless combat than Vlad King was.

Izuku should have expected that one day he would run into Kacchan again, but he was not expecting for the first time to be in front of nineteen other students.

“Today, we’re going to have an observer. Nedzu’s student is here to do analysis of you all. He’s going to join us for a few classes and will share what he learns about your quirks with you by the end of the month, for your benefit,” Aizawa explained. “This is a rare chance for you all. Analysts are rare and expensive, though since he is in training right now, he will be doing it for free, so make sure you show your gratitude.”

“Anyway,” Aizawa continued, “Introduce yourself, problem child.”

Izuku stepped into the room, notebooks in one hand with his school issued tablet on top. “Uhm. I’m Midoriya Izuku, please take care of me,” he said awkwardly, bowing slightly.

“Deku?” he heard, causing him to freeze. His eyes widened as they locked with narrowed, ruby ones.

“K-kacchan?” he squeaked.

“The fuck are you doing here, you useless nerd?” the blonde screeched, bursting forward with blazing hands.

Three things happened at once. Izuku raised his arms, aiming to block the attack. Aizawa’s eyes flared with his quirk, and a red haired boy burst in front of Kacchan with what looked like hardened skin.

It took a moment for Izuku to recognize the boy, the red throwing him off, but he relaxed minutely when he realized he would be safe. Kirishima wouldn’t hurt him, at least he didn’t think he would.

“Bakubro! You can’t just attack people with your quirk!” Kirishima exclaimed, shoving Bakugou back when he tried to continue advancing.

“I’ve got this, Kirishima,” Aizawa said, stepping in and snapping the capture weapon around the explosive blonde to rein him in.

Izuku let his arms drop from his face, standing still in shock from actually being protected. That was a strange experience to Izuku, but he chalked it up to them not knowing he was quirkless.

Kirishima trotted over to Izuku once Bakugou was fully in the hands of their teacher.

“Red Riot,” Izuku greeted, giving him a small smile.

“Midoriya! Good to see you!” Kirishima replied with a shark-tooth grin, “What’s up with that guy?”

“What do you mean?” he asked, tilting his head in confusion. “That’s normal for Kacchan.”

Kirishima just stared at him for a moment, then blinked. “Dude, that's not normal whatsoever,” he finally replied “It’s illegal to attack someone with your quirk in a non-training capacity.”

Izuku just looked even more confused, furrowing his eyebrows. “That… That doesn’t make sense… Then why...” He trailed off, muttering behind the hand he drew up to muffle it.

“Aizawa!” Kirishima called, startling Izuku out of his muttering storm. “Come here for a sec?”

Said teacher made his way over, capture weapon back over his neck, since Bakugou had been handed off to another teacher and removed from the room.

“What?” He asked, tucking his head further into his weapon.

Kirishima gently grabbed Izuku’s shoulder, turning him to the heroics teacher. “This one thinks being attacked with a quirk is normal.”

“It’s not.” Aizawa replied easily. “Nedzu’s working on it.”

Izuku blinked at the man. Kirishima nodded as if that made any sense to him.

“Back to class now. Midoriya, you can sit in the bleachers over there to make your observations,” the teacher indicated, ushering Kirishima back over to his classmates to get started on the lesson.

“Yes, sensei,” the two chorused, Izuku taking his leave to do what he was sent for.

“I’m your friend, and just here to talk, got it?” sneered the hoarse voice of none other than Shigaraki as he slid four fingers around Izuku’s neck. “Hello, level sniper.”

Izuku let go of the notebook he was looking at, letting it peacefully fall back into the pile. “Hello there,” Izuku said shakily, letting himself be tugged away by the neck. He knew that voice from being at the USJ to help some of the 1-A kids with their quirks.

Of course, something had to happen when Shinsou, his buddy for the day, left his side to go to the bathroom.

They took a seat relatively close to where the villain found him, just outside the stationary store. They sat in silence for a few minutes, Izuku scanning the space for the friends he came with or another 1-A student, while Shigaraki seemingly just watched people walk by.

“Why is it always about everyone else?” Shigaraki growled once the silence got too stifling for him, the man scratching his neck in irritation. “We set loose the Nomu in Hosu, yet all everyone is talking about is Stain this and Stain that.”

The hand holding Izuku’s neck squeezed tighter, nearly cutting off his ability to breathe, before letting go again. Izuku wheezed lightly, taking a careful deep breath and letting it go.

“I think,” the freckled boy started carefully, “the reason why people are talking about Stain rather than the League is because his goal is obvious. While I believe he’s going about it the wrong way, he wants to weed out the corrupt parts of hero society, whereas all we really know about the League is that you want to kill All Might.”

He took another cautious breath before continuing. “You want to kill All Might, why? Because he’s the symbol of peace? As vengeance because he didn’t save you when you needed help? That’s the kind of thing people need to know if you ever want public support.”

The fingers loosened slightly around his neck, and the villain hummed thoughtfully. “That’s good information,” he said, voice almost cheerful though it grated on Izuku’s ears.

“Midoriya?” came the familiar voice of Kirishima.

Izuku glanced over, a panicked look on his face as he took notice of both Kirishima and Uraraka coming up on their location.

Shigaraki’s hand tightened on Izuku’s neck, hard enough that when the villain let go, Izuku coughed hard trying to take in air again. The villain was quick to get up, throwing a, “See you later, player two,” over his shoulder as he made his escape to kami knew where.

Kirishima rushed over to Izuku’s side as he coughed and wheezed, gasping out, “Shigaraki. That was Shigaraki.”

Uraraka immediately rushed off, most likely to find other classmates, the mall security and contact their homeroom teacher. Kirishima stayed at his side, rubbing soothing circles onto Izuku’s back to help calm his breathing, giving Izuku sips of the water the red-haired boy had picked up at some point.

Shinsou also came back during the whirlwind of the class trying to find each other while also getting a hold of their homeroom teacher, and Izuku’s for that matter since he was involved as well.

“I’m so sorry, Midoriya,” Shinsou said, a look of guilt on his normally passive features. “There was a line in the bathroom, I honestly didn’t think I’d take so long.”

Izuku gave him a small, reassuring smile. “It’s not your fault, Shinsou,” he replied, voice slightly cracking in a way that had him rubbing his neck in discomfort. “Shigaraki grabbed me almost as soon as you were out of sight.”

Shinsou pursed his lips in a thin line, clearly unconvinced but unwilling to push the issue further with his friend.

“I’m just glad you’re okay,” Kirishima said, a small frown on his face that looked almost unnatural due to how cheerful the boy normally was. “Well, relatively okay, we’ll see what the doctor has to say when you get seen.”

“Thanks to you and Uraraka.” Izuku hummed, fidgeting with his hands to keep them off his neck. “I don’t know what I would have done if you guys didn’t show up when you did.”

Kirishima nodded “We were heading to the camping store right over there,” he said, pointing to the store about three doors down from where they were. “Uraraka needed bug spray.”

Izuku leaned into Kirishima’s side, the final bits of adrenaline he felt wearing off, leaving him tired and achy. Conversation tapered off, and they just sat in each other's presence listening to Uraraka and Shinsou inform the teachers, Aizawa and Nedzu, of what had happened in the mall.

Izuku would later find out that he fell asleep there and Kirishima carried him to the ambulance that took him to the hospital. Izuku blushed almost as red as Kirishima’s hair when his mom relayed that information from Aizawa and Nedzu, which made his mom giggle at his reaction to hearing it.

Izuku, unfortunately, didn’t have much time to deal with his emotions towards Kirishima at that point in time, as the League of Villains started making their big moves to destroy society as they knew it.

Time kept moving, and Izuku with it.

The war really took its toll on everyone, but Izuku graduated with his degree in heroic strategies and analysis early due to his immensely helpful work for the whole of Japan.

Izuku had been one of the boots on the ground, helping with strategies against Shigaraki, the LOV and All For One. His analysis of Shouto’s quirk, and a possible way for him to use the ice and fire at the same time, was what got the hero where he needed to be in order to intercept the time bomb that was the eldest Todoroki child.

Shigaraki and All For One were defeated.

Izuku hadn’t gotten to see Kirishima in person much after graduation, though the hero saved him from villains quite a few times and Izuku would give him some analysis from a recent fight as a thank you.

They were both in their own worlds, doing what they do best. Red Riot made his debut alongside Dynamight. Kacchan had changed a lot during the war, and for the better. He apologized genuinely to Izuku for everything he did when they were kids and was actively showing that he was trying to change.

The first time he didn’t stumble over Izuku’s name, instead of trying to say “Deku”, Izuku nearly cried tears of joy. He was also glad to have his Kacchan back, the Kacchan that Izuku always believed would be an amazing hero.

Izuku sighed, letting his reminiscence leave his mind, he was getting distracted again. If he was late, Nedzu was going to do something to his coffee, and nobody wanted their coffee messed with.

That’s why, when a fifty foot behemoth of a man stepped right in front of Izuku, he just stared.

“You have got to be kidding me,” he muttered, scrambling back from the now active fight scene as quickly as he could. Or, at least, he tried to. Izuku was picked up by this behemoth, who was surprisingly gentle, and used as a hostage.

“I’ll let this man go, if you let me go,” the villain said, turning back towards the heroes that had been chasing him.

That’s when Izuku noticed that it just so happened to be Red Riot in pursuit, most likely with Dynamight and Pinky as backup on the way— maybe even Mount Lady if she was in the area.

Izuku saw the hero’s stance suddenly change when he realized what was happening, even if it was a little hard to see from how high up he was.

“Red, wait for back up,” Izuku hollered, wincing as the villain shook him. “Dynamight is a better match up, Pinky too, if she’s in the area.”

“Shut up!” The villain screeched.

Izuku just sighed, kinda hoping this made the news so Nedzu wouldn’t mess with his coffee. Izuku had just gotten this new blend that Aizawa had recommended, and the green-haired man knew that's what Nedzu would go for first.

Dynamight entered the scene soon after, Pinky right on his heels like Izuku thought she would be, and they immediately got to work.

Though, the moment one of Katsuki’s explosions made contact with the villain's leg, the giant screeched, his hands opening to reach for the wound, and letting go of Izuku in the process.

Izuku screamed the moment he entered a forty foot free fall.

This was it, he thought, this is how I die.

It wasn’t, but the thoughts were very much there.

Something had to have been going on at the ground level, because he very faintly heard Katsuki’s explosions through the rush of wind, and then he collided with another person.

They both landed hard on the ground, battered and bruised. Izuku was a little dizzy, but at the very least, they were alive. Izuku took a stuttered breath once they stopped rolling, sitting up to take in the damage on them both in case they needed medical attention, only to find he was sitting on the lap of the very much perfectly fine Red Riot.

Izuku stared at him for a moment, wide eyed in a way that showed he was surprised to be alive before realizing where he was—straddling Kirishima’s lap— and scrambled back with a blush.

“We really have to stop meeting like this, ya know?” Kirishima said with his shark tooth grin that made Izuku’s heart race. “Hang back a bit, and I’ll come chat with you for a moment once we get this guy.”

Izuku nodded dumbly, willing his legs to work as he pulled himself fully up off the ground and headed over to where medical was set up. Even if he didn’t feel injured, he might as well get checked out anyway.

The fight after that, now that the man didn’t have a hostage, was swift.

Dynamight and Pinky got him down to one knee, and Red Riot knocked him out with a quirk hardened punch. The crowd cheered as the man went back to a relatively normal size, and Pinky cuffed him, pushing him into the police car that was ready and waiting.

Kirishima finished chatting with the other two heroes and the police. He was then shoved Izuku’s way by Ashido, who gave Kirishima a thumbs up and a mischievous smile.

“Hey,” Kirishima greeted. “You didn’t get injured right?”

“Hi,” Izuku breathed out, fidgeting with the sleeves of his dress shirt. “No, just a little bruised, maybe a small scrape here or there, but it’s a lot better than I thought it would be.”

Kirishima seemed to light up, happy to know he did his job well, and that he was able to save Midoriya.

“I was wondering,” Kirishima started, trailing off before continuing. “Would you, like to get coffee with me sometime?”

Izuku’s eyes widened, and he looked up at the man in front of him, looking surprised. “I- yes, I would l-love that!” he stuttered, putting his sleeve-covered hands over his face to hide the blush. “We should exchange numbers to plan something that works with both our schedules.”

Kirishima nodded, reaching for his phone but remembered he left it back at the agency. “I left my phone at base, lemme have yours, and I’ll text you back when my patrol’s over.”

“Okay,” Izuku breathed, grabbing his phone out of his pant’s back pocket.

Kirishima put in his number and texted himself so he had Izuku’s number as well.

When Izuku got his phone back, he glanced at the time. “Oh shoot, I’m so late.” He groaned, “I have to go, but I’ll keep an eye out for your text.”

“Wait,” Kirishima called after him. Izuku turned to him, sliding his messenger bag back over his shoulder. “We can give you a ride, the agency isn’t far.”

Izuku looked around for a second, realizing that yeah, from where they were, the agency Katsuki, Ashido and Kirishima ran wasn’t far. He gripped the strap of his bag a little tighter and nodded, “Yes, please and thank you.”

Kirishima gave him that shark tooth grin that Izuku absolutely adored, and waved him over to the other two heroes.

“Midoriya!” Ashido greeted him as soon as she spotted him with Kirishima.

“Pinky, Dynamight.” Izuku greeted respectfully.

The pink woman pouted, “You know you can call me Ashido, come on!!” She whined, hanging off the green-haired man for a moment. “You’ve like, definitely saved our lives multiple times with your analysis.”

Izuku gave a small smile. “Well, yeah, I do know that, but we’re in the field. You should only use your hero name in the field.”

Ashido groaned dramatically, “You’re right, you’re right.”

“Anyway,” Kirishima cut in. “We’re giving him a ride; he’s already late to work.”

“Fine.” Katsuki grumbled. “Let’s go then. The agency's a good five-minute walk, and I’m sure we’ll be stopped by fans.”

Izuku ended up being an hour late to work, and Nedzu, the benevolent rat god, decided to be lenient, and didn’t mess with Izuku’s coffee, because he saw the news.

It took a while before their schedules aligned well enough to schedule the coffee outing that Kirishima invited him on.

Izuku didn't want to call it a date just yet; he wouldn't jinx it, especially since Kirishima didn’t specify it was a date either. But Ochako and Hitoshi, his favorite married couple, and other two best friends, both agreed that it was a date.

Izuku, admittedly, got a little more dressed up than he normally would. He wore a gray button down with an oversized black sweater that had stars on it, a pair of black jeans, and his red high tops. Katsuki had picked it out since he couldn’t be there to help him get ready. Ochako managed to wrangle him into some eyeliner, and Hitoshi tamed his curls to look purposefully messy.

“What if this isn’t a date?” Izuku murmured, fiddling with his sleeves and looking himself over in the mirror.

“It totally is, trust me,” Ochako said with a conspiratorial wink. “We've known Ei for years, he wouldn't just ask anyone to coffee in the middle of a villain fight.”

Hitoshi nodded from his place, scrolling through his phone, on Izuku's couch. “Ditto,” The man drawled, setting it aside before he continued. “I've never seen him ask anyone out, but the middle of a villain fight is very Ei. Plus Ultra, very manly, all that jazz.”

Izuku sighed, letting go of the sleeve he was fiddling with. “That does sound like the Kirishima I know,” he said, walking over to flop onto the couch as well, laying his head on Hitoshi’s lap. “I’m just really nervous, I think. I’ve never been on a date before.”

The two nodded, knowing this tidbit of information about their best friend.

“It’ll be fine, we all know Ei couldn’t hurt a fly.” Ochako encouraged.

“Unless, that fly was a villain,” Hitoshi said with a snort, causing Izuku to giggle.

“Yes, unless that fly was a villain,” Ochako agreed, rolling her eyes playfully with a giggle as well. Then, all their phones buzzed. “Oh, Katsuki wants a picture.”

Izuku nodded, letting the brunette take a picture of his sprawled out form. He grabbed his phone out of his pocket once she sent it to see a thumbs up from Katsuki and a message that read, “Looks good, don’t fuck up,” that had Izuku smiling.

He loved his friends.

The green-haired boy then spotted the time and sat up in a flash. “I gotta get going, I’m gonna be late if I don’t.”

Hitoshi and Ochako looked at their phones for the time and started to gather their things to head back to their place.

“Good luck!” Ochako said as she gently pushed Hitoshi out the front door, who gave Izuku a finger salute for good luck.

Izuku thanked them for their help, grabbed his own keys, wallet and phone, and followed them out. He was going in the opposite direction for the coffee shop, so he waved at them one final time and headed in the direction he needed to go. He didn’t want to be late on his first date.

Of course, luck was not on his side, and about a block from the cafe he was grabbed by the collar of his button down shirt. It choked him, eliciting an ‘ack’ sound that reverberated in his head. On instinct, he stopped moving.

Apparently, he ran straight into the start of a Hero v. Villain fight. Just great. Why did this always happen?

“Heroes are LIARS,” the villain shouted, her voice passionate and rising in octaves. “They say they’re here to protect us, but when someone truly needs help, they’re not around!”

Izuku doesn’t struggle, like any normal civilian might; instead,he sighed internally. He should have expected this to happen and left his home earlier. He sent a silent apology to Kirishima in his head, hoping the man wouldn’t worry when he didn’t show up on time.

The green-haired boy just let her tug him around, using him as a shield to block the hero on scene and sidekicks from taking her down. Of course, he knew self defense, but he also knew that they would figure out how to help in a way that had less of a chance for Izuku himself to get injured.

“Midoriya!” came the voice of the last person he hoped would see him in a villain's hold, again, but as always, it was always Kirishima that found him.

“Kirishima, hey.” Izuku greeted awkwardly, “Not quite how I intended to get to the cafe, but ya know. Life hates me.”

Izuku couldn’t help but notice how handsome Kirishima looked, though. The man had also dressed up a little, going for a similar color scheme as Izuku. The man wore a dark gray short sleeved button down, black jeans and matching combat boots with his red hair up in its normal spiky style.

“Be quiet.” The villain— Jet— hissed at Izuku.

“Why do villains always tell me to be quiet?” Izuku complained internally, though doing as instructed on the outside. He’d like to keep his life, thank you. “This makes villain fight number four this week, and I’ve been told to shut up four times. I was on my way to possibly my first date this time, too.”

With the distraction of Kirishima making an appearance, Kamui Woods, the hero initially on scene, was finally able to get the drop on Jet. Izuku stumbled out of the villains clutches, and again, Kirishima rushed in, saving him from falling flat on his face.

“Thanks,” Izuku muttered bashfully, letting Kirishima help stabilize him. He almost didn’t want the man to let go, but they had a cafe to get to.

Izuku decided to be a little bold, letting Kirishima’s arm drop to grab his hand and intertwine their fingers. They both blushed red.

“Let’s give Kamui your statement and head to the cafe, yeah?” Kirishima said, voice cracking slightly.

Izuku nodded, pulling the man with him over to the hero shoving the villain into a police car. All and all, Kamui taking his statement only took about five minutes since this interaction with the villain wasn’t long.

Then, they were off to the cafe. Luckily, there was no damage to the area, since the villain was mostly non-violent, and they were able to be seated pretty quickly.

They talked about mundane things for a bit, before Kirishima broke the comfortable silence they fell into once they had their drinks.

“So, I never really specified, but I was hoping this could be our first date.” Kirishima said nervously, scratching the back of his neck. “It’s totally cool to say no, but I’ve liked you for a long time and just never had the guts to ask you out.”

Izuku blinked at him for a moment, the words not registering at first. When they did, he smiled, small but genuine like the one he gave Kirishima when they first met. The smile that Kirishima fell for, and the red-head knew without another word that it was reciprocated.

“I have also liked you for a while,” Izuku said bashfully, “I also couldn’t find the courage to bring it up with you, especially with how infrequently we met. I just, couldn’t get you out of my head.”

“I kinda noticed it, in our first year I think?” Izuku rambled, obviously flustered the more he spoke. “When you, uhm, when you protected me from Kacchan, I think that’s what sparked it and just never left from there. Especially since every time we saw each other you were so sweet to me too, yes, this can be our first date and youshouldalsocallmeIzuku.”

“Izuku,” Kirishima said, taking in the green-haired man's flushed cheeks and giving him the shark-toothed grin Izuku adored. “You can call me by my first name too.”

Izuku reached his hand forward, intertwining their fingers once again. “E-eijirou” he stuttered, tilting his head to the side bashfully. “I think we should go on a few more dates to decide if this is what we truly want before deciding anything else.”

“Of course,” Eijirou agreed easily.

They talked a bit more about what they had been up to over the years, rather than what they knew about each other from their surface level conversations they usually had whenever they met due to Katsuki or a villain fight. Things like Izuku breaking his arm when he was a child, or Eijirou accidentally giving himself a concussion showing off his quirk because he didn’t activate it quick enough.

At one point, Izuku laughed so hard at a story Eijirou was telling him and managed to knocked over his drink. Both of them reached for the napkins, hands briefly touching before they both jerked back bashfully. Eijirou reached for them the second time quicker, wiping up the mess and getting Izuku a new drink in the process of throwing the napkins away.

By the time Izuku got home that night, he couldn’t wipe the huge smile off his face. He squealed into his pillow like a high schooler with a crush, but luckily there was no one around in his apartment to make fun of him for it.

He got Ochako and Hitoshi on the phone after he showered and got into comfortable clothes, gushing about how much fun he had, and that ‘yes, Ochako, it was a date, you and Hitoshi were right.’

Izuku and Eijirou went on a few more dates after that. They went to an amusement park, a hero convention Izuku was really excited for dressed up as their favorite heroes (Izuku as All Might, and Eijirou as Crimson Riot), and then a cozy night in cuddled on Eijirou’s couch to watch a movie with takeout spread across the coffee table.

It was this last date that they talked a little bit about what their relationship would look like if they decided to be together as boyfriends. In the end, they decided to keep it on the down low for the time being, only telling close friends and family. Izuku wasn’t quite ready to be in the spotlight that the number twelve hero was allotted, but they did end the night as boyfriends.

The Bakusquad, Ochako and Hitoshi were all thrilled to hear the news, happy to see their friends happy with each other.

While their relationship wasn’t out to the public, they weren’t shy about hand holding or hugging each other either. Soon enough,Eijirou had the courage to make waves in the LGBT community as a bisexual hero.

Around the sixth month of their relationship, it was revealed to the public. By then, Izuku wasn’t so worried about being in the spotlight anymore (with the help of his therapist), and it helped a lot that Eijirou reassured him that he wasn’t ashamed that Izuku was quirkless. It was still a sore spot for him, even as the successful analyst and battle strategist he was.

Of course they had their haters, but a majority of the public was just happy their hero was happy. The official announcement of their relationship actually boosted Eijirou’s rating’s, even if he still stayed in his number twelve spot. Eijirou wasn’t much for paying attention to his ranking anyway, but he was happy to help and make a difference in their society.

A year into their relationship, Eijirou proposed. It felt right for them, since they had mutually been pining for nearly ten years to begin with. It was very sweet. The man had let his hair grow out to the length it was at when they met, and he proposed at the intersection where they first met after the slime villain incident all those years ago.

Izuku said yes, of course. Overwhelmed with emotion, the only thing he could do was cry and hug his boyfriend fiance while nodding vigorously.

They remained engaged for another year before getting married in a beautiful ceremony. The two had a private ceremony with just family and friends. The location was found out by accident, and while it wasn’t raided, there was paparazzi that ended up getting a few admittedly gorgeous photos of them leaving the venue.

It also seemed that the way they met would be how they sealed their vows.

“Sometimes I swear I have a quirk,” Izuku muttered, staring at the villain in front of them. On their wedding day. “Trouble magnet sounds about right.”

His newly minted husband chuckled, taking off the jacket of his tux. The wedding party full of other heroes did the same. “I think that sounds about right, but I still love that about you.” he said, and then they got to work.
