Chapter Text
My eyes flutter open. The room around me is dark as a closet. It’s unusual, the time I usually wake up there’d be at least a little light. Even this late in the year.
I try to move my hands, but they felt incredibly weak. I’m barely able to hold them up a few inches off my blanket. My other hand trapped under my blanket.
The more time went on, the more my nerves began to send signals to my brain. I started to feel my body temperature rising. Not the room or the bed. In fact, after a few seconds my blanket feels like an ice pack keeping me from melting.
After about ten seconds, I’m able to force my hand to the cupboard next to my bed. I look at the alarm clock; it reads 3:03 AM. Unable to hold my position, my body falls limp onto my bed yet again. For some reason, it feels like something atop my head catches on the corner of the cupboard.
No pain, just… as if there was something attached…
Then, I feel something new, an irritation. It’s present on every surface, but in some places it goes deeper into my skin.
My first full thought starts being formulated.
What… What is happening?
My vocal cords try to let out a scream, but all that comes out is empty air.
My breath gets quicker, it doesn’t take me long to realise I’m nearly hyperventilating. Then my vision starts to go dark. And I lose consciousness.
