LOST MEDIA AU: Freddy and The FazBunch (Information Tidbits + Headcanons)

Summary:

Back in January of this year, I made an AU called Freddy and The Faz-Bunch. Originally starting off as simple fake 'lost media' posts, I grew fond of the idea, and it stuck with me. Eventually, my brain started to roll around in my ideas, thus leading to me diverging from it simply being fake 'lost media', into being a full on AU.

(Now with a FNAC Expansion, woohoo!)

Chapter 1: February 2nd, 2026

Chapter Text

Hello, everyone! MonstahEnergeez, AKA Dell here. I would like to say thank you all for the love and support within my last few months or so of writing on here! I promise that a lot more fics will come out of me, but in the meantime, I would love to talk about some of my favorite bits of a new AU that I made fairly recently.

HISTORY

Initially, Freddy and The Faz-Bunch was meant to air around the periodical frame of the late 90's, but due to the original branch (the FNAF 1 pizzeria we play in) shutting down for investigation, alongside with a foul odor coming from the animatronics. The show was delayed, soon planned to be published around in the 2000's era. But eventually, due to bankruptcy, health code violations, and safety concerns, the branches had shut down in rapid succession. Yes, there was more than one Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in this AU. Eventually, the last Freddy's had ended up closing its doors forever some time around 2001-2003, and the show was permanently scrapped, never to be seen again.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERS IN THE CARTOONS LIKE?

The cartoon version of the characters are rather different from the animatronics themselves. Lets get the obvious out of the way: the cartoons are not possessed. The animatronics still are, but the cartoons had no involvement with murder or spirits. With that out of the way, the cartoon characters had a bit more dimension rather than the animatronics, on account of the loose creative control and as a manner to better advertise Freddy's at the time by making the cast more colorful and three-dimensional. The cartoons are more so their own iteration of the characters, rather than just simple cartoon variants of the original animatronics.

The characters in the cartoon managed to stir up some questions about the anatomy, but the main one was this: were they anthropomorphic animals, or animatronic-like? Well, with the loose creative control, the artists decided to make it a mix of both! The characters looked and behaved like normal anthropomorphic cartoon animals, but also had some robotic attributes such as endoskeletons and insulation. This was both a mix of creative freedom, and to dodge censors in case of there being 'excessive violence' at points of the cartoon.

WHAT ARE THE BACKSTORIES OF THE FAZ-GANG?

Each of the four members of the Faz-Gang had joined at different points, and they each have different bits and bobs of their character that makes them stand out! Let's see what each character has to offer!

Fredrick "Freddy" Fazbear: In his younger years, Fazbear had lived with his parents, up until his mother was struck with a critical illness and hospitalized. With his mother ill and his father working overtime, Freddy had to live with his grandfather, Fredbear Fazbear, at the age of 7. Freddy had been raised to be a pacifist, a kind soul, and a leader. He was well behaved as a child, having helped Fredbear with his woodcarving shop up until he had left for college. Afterwards, Freddy had formed the Faz-Gang after reconnecting in person with Bonnie, his close childhood friend.

Bonnie Bunnavin Bunny: Bonnie was raised in a protective, loving household, but almost too protective. After an incident involving their first child, Mr. and Mrs. Bunny made a vow to protect their next child at all costs, in order to make sure that they were alive and healthy. Bonnie was homeschooled throughout his elementary school years, and monitored under the watchful eyes of his parents frequently. It wasn't up until his middle-school years that Bonnie had been permitted to enter a public school. Around this time was when Bonnie had met Freddy, who had clicked with him instantly, and the two soon became friends, growing especially close during their college years. After college, Bonnie and Freddy kept in contact via sending letters. Bonnie had worked a plethora of odd jobs and side-gigs within his time, but Freddy had found him in his gig as a guitarist for a local ska band and offered him a permanent position within the Faz-Gang. Bonnie happily leapt into Freddy's arms, accepting the offer with little to no hesitation.

Chicadelia "Chica" Chicken: Raised by a single mother in the countryside, Chicadelia was taught that fighting for what was right and defending herself were two important skills. Kindness was not lost upon Chica, as her mother was the sweetest woman to the young chicken, despite Ms. Chicken's boyfriend having caught cheating on her, leaving her to parent Chica by herself. Chica was taught a plethora of skills, from baking, to axe-throwing. Once an adult, Chica would work in a bakery in the countryside, just near her childhood home, with dreams and wishes of exploring the world filling her heart and her head. Her wishes were powerful enough to bring one of the cupcakes to life, which she aptly named 'Carl'. One day, though, her dreams and wishes came true, as Freddy and Bonnie came in with the offer to let Chica join in the band. Chica agreed, willing to be there with her newfound friends, along with her trusty pet cupcake.

Captain Foxcreux "Foxy" McForrowind: Foxcreux (pronounced 'fox-kruhh') was once a kind and young fellow, who had always dreamed of being a pirate, just like his parents were. It wasn't until the age of 8 that Foxy had lost that kindness within his heart, for he witnessed the loss of his parents to mutiny. Once orphaned, Foxy had grown bitter of the world, viewing people as not to be trusted, in fear of losing anyone close to him. And thus, Foxy had worked as a pirate, alone on the seas without any crew. At age 14, he got his first major injury when he lost his eye in a battle with the captain of another ship, but he managed to escape with not many other hassle. Another major injury was when he was 19, when he got slashed across the chest from a privateer's soldier, leading to a scar across his chest. 21 and 25 respectively was when he lost his hand and his leg, both from accidents. After years of being on the sea, Foxy had became rash, brutal, but cunning, able to win fights and slip past guards of any sorts. It wasn't until he met Freddy Fazbear, first person to best him in combat in over ten years, that he decided to let some kindness into his heart, for Freddy didn't fight with harshness... But rather with good sportsmanship, and fair play. Something that Foxy had admired somewhat, which led to him joining Freddy's crew, seeing that Freddy was somewhat of a good leader.

'WHAT IF'S?

And now, for some 'what if's, where we ask about what could have happened within the timeline!

What if the missing kids incident never happened?/What if William never killed anyone nor died in the Spring Bonnie suit?: If the Spring Bonnie suit were still in tact and not used to murder children in, then Spring Bonnie would have acted as a secondary grandparent to Freddy. Spring Bonnie would have been close friends with Fredbear, and would have performed with Fredbear in his prime. If William saw the Springtrap design, he would have either laughed it off alongside the artists who made it, or he would have flipped his lid and fire whoever drew it, no inbetween with that man.

What if Freddy's never closed down?: If Freddy's hadn't closed down, then the series would have been released, either under the Cartoon Network channel. It would have been rated TV-Y7 (suitible for ages 7 and up) on account of the fantasy/cartoon violence that occured within a few of the episodes. The show would have aired for around two seasons, and either would have had a movie or an hour-long special.

What if they wanted to air it anyways?: If they wanted to air the show anyways after the closing of all the locations, I have a feeling that the show would have taken a much darker turn, aiming for either a TV-14 or TV-MA rating. It would have been picked up by Adult Swim, and would have been styled in a mockumentary type of fashion (think of The Poughkeepsie Tapes or The Office, those are some good examples of mockumentary style things). It would have lasted one season, with five episodes spanning at least fourty-five minutes. They would have to wait until the 2010's to air it, in order to avoid severe backlash, however.

LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION PERTAINING TO SPRING BONNIE AND FREDBEAR

Initially, within the show, the animators and writers wanted to give Spring Bonnie and Fredbear an openly queer relationship, but due to the time the show was in production, along with the show's age rating, they hesitated. Eventually, the team would have settled with simply calling them 'close' friends, 'roommates' even. Despite having to take this route, the relationship between Spring Bonnie and Fredbear would be generally nuanced, with the two appearing in a good handful of episodes, and their relationship handled with care, respect, and all in all, it would have been shown in a manner that was good.

CHARACTER INFORMATION

Alright, now that we got some of the other ramblings out of the way, it's time for me to give you all the character information of their personality's and fun facts! Yay!

Fredrick "Freddy" Fazbear, the leader: Fredrick Fazbear, simply known as Freddy, is the fatherly leader of the group, and second eldest just behind Chica. Freddy is well known for his soft and fuzzy outside, which is just like his soft and fuzzy inside. Freddy is fearless, willing to help out others in need! Although stubborn when it comes to him being the one who needs help, Freddy has a heart of gold, and won't be afraid to assert himself when the situation calls it. Freddy is also known to avoid violence as a resolution to any issue, opting for other solutions that can solve the situation peacefully.

Bonnie Bunnavin Bunny, the guitarist: Bonnie is an anxious, shy fellow, who's sweeter than sugar! An enjoyer of jokes, ska-music, and playing the guitar, Bonnie is always there for the others. Although accident-prone due to his jumpy and skittish behavior, Bonnie always means good. Although, Bonnie isn't always happy-go-lucky or shy, as he will get angry at anyone who insults him or his friends genuinely.

Chicadelia "Chica" Chicken, the backing vocals: Chica is a kind, tender chicken from the countryside, well-meaning and endearing. Chica knows a plethora of skills, and is willing to teach anyone who asks her. But don't get on Chica's bad side! She's known to have a rather short fuse, and she won't hesitate to rough-house anyone that dares to try and hurt the feelings or well-being of her close friends. Chica holds her friends and family close, often being seen around old friends from the countryside or family members when given the chance to see them.

Captain Foxcreux "Foxy" McForrowind, the wildcard: The last of the main four to join the band, Foxy is more of a lone wolf, opting to stay at Pirate's Cove. But still, he's part of the group, no matter how many pranks or mischievous acts he pulls. Foxy knows that laughter should not come at the cost of the tears of his friends, not after he gained a soft spot for Freddy and the crew, after all. But just because he plays nice, doesn't mean that he hasn't stopped being a pirate, that's far from it!

Alright, now for the minor characters/cast that isn't the main 4!

Fredbear Fazbear: Fredbear is Freddy's wise grandpa, always giving the crew advice and stories with lessons that pertain to whatever issues they may be facing! Although much older and unable to do much of the tricks he could have done in his hey-day, Fredbear is still able to do a lot to help the Faz-Gang out!

Carl VonCuppy-Cake: Carl is Chica's pet cupcake! A pasty of few words, Carl is a jack of all trades who is always there to support Chica and the others!

Springtrap/William Afton: Initially made as a joke character amongst the team and rumors of 'what if William Afton came back as a zombie?', he would attempt to get rid of Freddy and his friends in season 2, being a cruel and unkind villain.

Nightmare: A one-off character made for the episode 'Carl's Nightmare', Nightmare is a shapeshifting being who can enter into people's bad dreams and terrorize them. He takes enjoyment in causing others to feel fear, almost feeding off of the fright itself. He's a rather theatric villain as well, too.

THE TOYS (BACKSTORY + PERSONALITY)

The 'Toy' animatronics were created all the way back in the 80's in the 'New and Improved Freddy's Pizzeria'. They were designed to give a more friendly look, unlike the previous locations on account of a few... Incidents, along with the kids being afraid of the robots. The Toy animatronics were made to look like the toys of the era, with soft angles, rosy cheeks, and big, pretty eyes! Unfortunately, the location had ended up shutting down due to complaints and missing children. The beloved toy animatronics managed, however, to live on in a handful of episodes of Freddy and Friends. Well, up until the show got scrapped and had never aired.

Toy Bonnie / Bunnison Hare: In the cartoon, Toy Bonnie had been raised by a loving family, but his environment hadn't been so kind. Throughout his younger years, Bunnison had been bullied for his appearance and his interests. This caused T.B to have a more rougher, mean outer shell, even after meeting his friends, Toy Freddy and Toy Chica. His personality on the outside is narcissistic, easily irritated, and rude, all done so that he won't have to show his true persona, out of fear of seeming 'weak'. His true persona, only seldom seen by the other toys, is kind, sheepish, and caring at times.

Toy Freddy / Ferdinand Fuzzbirn: Raised with protective parents who had worried a fair amount, Toy Freddy was one who never really questioned authority, often giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. Toy Freddy had became friends with Toy Bonnie back in highschool, having felt bad that he didn't have a whole lot of people to talk to. Ferdinand soon became the mascot of the toys, while Bunnison had pulled the strings in a comanderring manner. Ferdinand is kind, a bit of a yes-man, but is the most kind soul out of the toys.

Toy Chica / Cecilia Avia: Toy Chica had always been a bit of a hooligan. Raised by parents who would fight, break up, and get back together, Cecilia had been a troublemaker for most of her life. Cecilia would sneak out of the house at night, and go into wild house parties. Getting into fights, skipping class, if you could think it, she did it. She started to change in her senior year of highschool, when once she had been suspended for a while, she had to be in an ankle monitor under house arrest, and to the concern of her closest friend Toy Freddy, she decided to change. Toy Chica is a witty, sassy, but kind woman, often defending her friends and those she holds close, who won't back down from a fight.

The Mangle / Mannon Pierce: Mannon used to be an actor on the big screen, living in fame and fortune a while and having persevered after her husband's "mysterious" passing. But not all that glitters is gold, for one day in her limo, a terrible crash had happened between a truck full of metallic parts, and a truck that had carried vats of radioactive substance. In the crosshairs of the crash, Mannon had changed. She was no longer the star she had been, and when Mannon had saw herself, she was horrified at what she had become. She hid from the public, having faked her death. Once she had grown used to how she had looked, she re-appeared, under a new name and having became a nanny for BB and JJ. Mannon is slightly jaded, wise, and sympathetic woman, being there for the others in tragedy and understanding how situations can affect others, just as she was affected...

BB and JJ / Benny Hollison and Jessica Hollison: A package deal, the twins were left behind by their parents as infants for reasons unknown. They had been left onto the front porch of someone who had been living nearby and adopted by Mari. Both of the twins have differing personalities, with Benny being more quiet and reserved, and Jessica being more loud and outgoing. Although they don't always agree or get along, the two siblings help eachother out through thick and thin!

The Puppet (Or the Marionnette) / Maria (or Mark) Nellete: Maria had grown up in a fostercare system most of their life after the tragic death of her parents due to a fire that occured in their house. Mari was raised by many kind souls, and had aspired to work in childcare since they were young. Maria grew up with a sense of wonder, having an affinity for classic literature. One day, BB and JJ were left on their doorstep, and Maria had decided to take them in as her own! But due to how busy they were, they had to hire Mannon as a nanny, and the other toys offered to help as well. Maria is compassionate, brave, but a bit too alert, often shielding BB and JJ as much as possible.

That's all for now! I'll update this every once in a while when I make more tumblr posts! Toodles! <3
