Work Text:
Its been three days since Z had left so suddenly to the both of them. Before, an hour later after ReGect had noticed Z was gone, he thought that maybe he was just out and had forgot to leave a note behind for the both of them. Maybe he would come back like, an hour later or so.
"It's already nighttime, and yet, Z still hasn't came BACK. Dude, where the fuck is this guy?" Regect mumbled to himself as he sat across the table, staring at the full plate left uneaten with it's empty chair infront of it preserved for a certain someone. Gosh, he put so much effort into that dish too since Z wasn't around that evening.. ReGect already knew how to cook by himself, but even so, he relies on Z to do the cooking more-Even if it's bad or not, he isn't that picky but he would sure point that out to Z's face. Because of that, Z believes that ReGect can't originally cook. But in reality, he's just lazy to be the cook.
Mo had already gone out upstairs to sleep after she finished her dinner. He considered he was going to eat his with Z. But since it was getting late, he finished his before Z came back, So it's just him and this—well, himself alone. He's not sure how long of an hour had he been waiting for Z to come back to eat his food, but his eyes were getting droopy.
He pulled out his watch, an unexpressive surprised look left him on his face, silent frustration steamed up his chest. He let out a sigh as he pushed his chair back, reclining on the chair's top back. His arms covered down his face, letting his eyes fall and rest for a nap.
ReGect groaned as he felt the bright light from the morning sun slipped through the glass paned-windows, the light had refracted, creating a radiant visualizer of his actual face. He never told Z this but, he always had a face, its just invisible to be seen. It hit directly in his eyes, it was annoying, sure, but at least he's awake now.
His eyes pointed directly towards the food, now had been swarmed by a number of ants.
"Oh. I guess Z didn't come back." He yawned, he was still too tired to care in this morning. He hoped Z had eaten dinner on wherever the fuck he went last night. He considered not finishing the probably now-rottened food and decided to take the plate, he then excuses himself out of his seat to put it in the kitchen counter.
Mo and ReGect had been silently sitting on their living room lounge. Sometimes Mo had been half-expecting the door on the entryway to open for a specific visitor to come in, while ReGect was just zoned out, deep in his thought. Both of them were getting pretty bored from all this waiting.
With nothing to do, ReGect had just let his thoughts wander everywhere, like a scattered mess in his brain-What if Z had left both of them on purpose? No, that couldn't be right. He's kinda homeless without the both of them. Or, what if he was kidnapped and held hostage? That wouldn't be possible, he has a literal shotgun kept in his inventory. What if he was lost on his way and couldn't come back?
What if he was dead?
His gut churned at the thought like that-it had sent feeling of uneasiness, Something he had felt before. His eyebrow(?) furrowed, was he actually getting worried about Z right now? Of course, why wouldn't he? What kind of sick person would not get a concern of worry from your housemate getting lost?
Thats not the only reason why he's worried.
A honk from Mo then snapped ReGect back to reality.
"Huh? Oh, yeah i was just-thinking," A quick pause was set in his words, processing the question to say before asking it, "Where do you think where Z is?" Mo's shoulders shrugged. He sighed, I guess ReGect should've thought before asking that. That was kinda stupid asking something that will be forever an unanswered question to someone you expect to not know the answer.
Mo tilted her head, humming out her confusion. She dragged herself to the left, moving a little closer to ReGect. He let her head kept rest on his shoulder, embracing onto his visible arm to show a gratitude of empathy towards him—understanding ReGect's deep feeling of longing for Z. It had been empty around the house without him recently. "Honk honk honk honk honk, honk honk honk honk..."
"... Yeah. I guess i do miss him." He admitted, it's own eyes instinctively looked away. Maybe out of embarrassment, but there was this-feeling in his chest, a burning sting-like sensation like something had pierced him. If he could, he could've cried with tears out of his eyes in front of Mo there, but before he could even do, he felt Mo's gloved hands patted his back. "Honk honk honk... honk?" Moe reassures him it will be okay and they're going to find Z.
He sniffed—the sound barely audible, trying to push back his tears away. Mo encourages him up from the couch. She honked, signing him to follow her, "Honk honk honk!" She then directs ReGect outside the house, "So, uh, we're going to find Z i guess?" Mo then nodded in agreement.
