Chapter Text

Danny was leaning forward on the railing of his bedroom, which was large, but filled with anything he could imagine and had it's own second floor, which was used for other things like for his models of rockets, and space stations from various dimensions, and a craft area of course.

His wings streached out, feeling the muscle on his midsection stretch, which felt good. Sighing in contentment, looking up at the sky, that was a yellow of paper that could be ancient, black stars dotting here and there. Ghosts bellow trading, talking, some fights with drunken ghosts broke out, he could hear a cheer.

Carcosa was his home now, his original dimention... Well... It became a blacklisted dimension, almost permanently cut off from the infinite realms, his original fraid now gone as the Nasty Burger explosion was going to happen one way or another.

He just didn't know what else to do now...

Oh how he would either regret, or never regret that thought.

----

"Dad-" Danny Phantom, known Prince of Lost Carcosa, the Prince in Yellow, Bane of Pariah, The Balence, Great one of the Far Frozen, Time's Apprentice, and many other titles, was questioning his Eldrich father, Hastur, or the King in Yellow, "Why?"

Hastur would be probably smiling if it wasn't for that shadow that covered it's face 24/7, but the world he had found was full of... Dragons and vikings, intresting combination, and probably hell.

"I've known that you've been needing something to keep your mind off of things, son, and one hour there is just a mere minute here. I've had aid from the Master of Time itself so we can have identities. You are Danieru, Prince of the growing city, Carcosa, and I am still Hastur, and the King of the growing city." he explained.

"real subtle" Danny laughed, "Well, my play nor the stories never existed here, yet at least" They replied, Danny feeling her grin.

"Well, lets be off now" Hastur spoke, his form shrinking down to a smaller, still tall, human form. "Dad- sorry uhm- you kinda look-" Danny was cut off, "Uncanny? It's Intentional, fear is a great weapon, child" Hastur responded.

"that... Makes sense... In a way" he muttered, shifting to his human form, letting his wings fold within his body.

"I've already had our accommodations prepared, clothes at the ready. Everything is planned out, you don't need to worry" Hastur informed, before stepping through the portal, Danny following after them.

The portal led out into the inside of a ship, in his own small room, and a servant, who was a ghost in human form most likely, helped him get into some time-period appropriate clothes, which he was wearing a kimono that has embroidered red wings on the back, easing the itching sensation on his back from his actual wings being underneath his skin, underneath the kimono was a dress beige blouse.

He admired the work on the kimono, thanking the servants before heading out.

The ship resembled an old Okinawa ship, the sails resembling giant webbed wings, said sails being a gorgeous red, the small details along the ship left him in awe.

The rails had long scale patterns with fur along the backs of the dragon-like carvings, the front of the ship having a classic dragon head, abit more detailed but still beautiful none the less.

"The ship is beautiful is it not, son?" the recognizable voice of his Dad appeared behind him.

"It's more than beautiful, it's gorgeous, a piece of art truely." he said, carefully tracing his fingers across the carved wood. Looking up, he noticed a ship heading for them, looked to be a trader's ship, his father walking forward, seemingly to observed the ship.

Soon the smaller ship was next to their own, Hastur waving to the one steering the ship they were on to angle in a way to hopefully trade with the ship.

One of the gaurds let down the rope ladder, the trader on the ship climbing up, Hastur helping the trader up.

Hastur then started to speak to the trader, of course being half ghost, means you know every, and can speak every language no matter the dimension, so it was easy to understand the trader.

The trader's name was Johann, fitting name if Danny could say so himself, and he stood behind his dad.

"and who is this young man?" Johann asked, "That is my son, say hello Danieru..." His father looked at him softly.

"Hello... Just call me Danny" he muttered, still staying behind his father.

"Well it is lovely to meet you young Danny... don't mind me asking but... Is yellow a common eye color for your people?" Johann looked back up to Hastur. That sentence made Danny tense up.

"The eye color isn't common but is possible for one to be born with yellow eyes, mine are yellow as well but look brown." Hastur rubbed his back soothingly. "well it is a unique eye color nonetheless! Now I have some items for trade, do you have anything of interest?"

The adults begin to talk about bartering some items, and Danny wandered off, looking overboard... And saw something fall into the water, he looked around, no seastacks, so it couldn't have been a rock. "SOMETHING FELL INTO THE WATER THAT WAY!" Danny yelled, pointing where he saw the splash, his father quickly telling Johann to probably tie up his ship to theirs so it wouldn't drift away, and Johann obliged.

The crew instantly turned the ship once Johann's vessel was tied onto the larger ship and went to the area where the splash occured, and a net was thrown down.

Finally, something was being pulled up, it was almost white as a cloud and Johann muttered, "By thor... it's a skrill! But... Why is it white?" Danny crouched down to the net, hearing the dragon hiss, "get back..." The skrill spoke.

"I mean no harm... Please" Danny whispered, guessing understanding all languages meant dragon's aswell Danny thought.

"I can understand you... But I cannot let the ones around know... especially the Johann trader, I do not trust him." Danny whispered, the dragon sniffed him, "Youu don't sssmell of vikingg, you don't look like one either..." the dragon growled.

"that is because I am not... I am Danieru, Prince of Carcosa." he made it look like he was soothing the dragon and not conversating with it. "You are?" he asked, "I am not one with a name, I was never given one from my pure of white scales" the dragon warbled, "We'll figure that out later, are you a she, or he?" Danny finally asked, the skrill responding, "...she", Danny nodded, and saw that one her back left leg was caught in some kind of trap.

"How long..." Danny asked, "Too long..." she warbled.

"Father do we have any healers on the ship?" Danny asked Hastur, and they nodded.

"we need wrap for the injury and something for her to bite down on to remove the trap on her leg, the wound looks about 2 days old and doesn't seem to have have went through bone or be infected, and the salt from the water would of disinfected it somewhat. But we still need to be fast." Danny informed, and Hastur begain barking orders to get the healer and the healer quickly got out, said healer was a tall, large women, a yeti in diguise, he recognized her in a way, and someone brought a thick piece of wood for the skrill to bite down on.

The nets were removed, Johann was clearly amazed of how quickly everyone worked. Or how well-behaved the dragon was acting.

"My Thor I've never seen a Skrill so well-behaved! From my time Skrills are usually ruthless with attacking, even without the aid of storm clouds" Johann commented.

"Well, we always said he had a way with animals, to the smallest of bug to the biggest of tigers, and Dragons it seems aswell..." Hastur chuckled.

Danny held the Skrill's head as it bit down on the wood, splintering the wood some, but not enough for splinters to get stuck, and the healer begain to wrap up the leg.

The Skrill hissed at the sensation but didn't make a move to attack.

"I believe you still need a name... Because we cannot just call you just Skrill or Dragon." Danny said, thinking for a moment, then finally had a name, "How about Kalani?" Danny looked at the Skrill, "Kalani... I like it..." She chuffed.

"Kalani it is." Danny smiled.

--later--

Hastur traded with Johann, obtaining soft and warm furs in exchange for silks not of the world, Johann also informing the father and son duo about the Dragon riders of berk, and how the chief's son, Hiccup Haddock III, would possibly want a meeting with them and see how Kalani would be holding up in the near future.

Kalani had since been staying on the ship, and once they docked, Danny helped Kalani off the boat and lead through the path to the carriage, which was being pulled by two large horses.

"Kalani, are you safe to fly? Your injury will take some days to heal entirely, I wouldn't want you to anger it further." Danny turned to Kalani, letting his hand extend, and her snout pushing into it.

"I will be fine... I guess I'll meet you at the enterence?" Kalani tilted her head, Danny nodded, but before she took off into flight, he wrapped a necklace around her horn, having the Yellow sign carved into the pendent.

"this will let the gaurds know that you are with the royals, not danger" he explained, and nodded for her to go, and she flew up.

As the two climbed into the carriage, shutting the door, it started to move.

"So was coming here so bad afterall?" Hastur asked, grinning.

"I guess... Not that bad... Kalani is a kind dragon, it is sad to see that her own kind disgraces her for her Albinoism, she is beautiful in my eyes." Danny replied, Hastur chuckling in turn.

"Johann did speak of the dragon riders, maybe a meeting with the group would benefit, especially for Kalani's care." they said thoughtfully. "I can talk to Kalani to see what she'd need for food and bedding" Danny smiled back, Hastur looking at him before laughing.

"well, I believe the Johann fella might be the yammer type, telling the riders about us" he chuckled, Danny nodding in agreement before yelping at a bump in the road.

-----

Kalani greeted the two royals at the front, following them within the growing walls of the growing kingdom, the palace loomed overhead, imposing as ever even in the mortal realm and abit smaller.

"These mortal coils are already giving me an ache" Hastur grumbled, leaving Kalani confused, "I'll explain later Kalani, mortals, like yourself, cannot comprehend his actual form..." he sighed.

The town was bustling, villagers who were most likely ghosts wanting to be in the mortal realm for a bit before heading back to the realms greeted the three, a fisherman giving Kalani a large eel that she enjoyed, though she explained dragons usually hate eels, but not her, she likes them.

They soon arrive to the palace. Heading within, a servant greeting them.

"I'll lead the young prince to his room so you can shed the mortal form my King" she bowed, Hastur thanking her. Danny followed the servant to his room, which was similar to the one in the realms, but it had a large carved circle stone in the corner, Kalani going over, and using her electricity breath, making a circle before laying down, sighing in contentment.

Danny shed his kimono, and under clothing but the wraps that covered hid legs, and let his wings fully open, sighing in relief.

"you..." Danny looked up to see Kalani looking at his wings. "As you might realize, me or my father are not human, none of the humans, minus Johann, are human, we are all realms beings, my father is The King in Yellow, I am the Prince in Yellow or Phantom, but still call me Danny." he explained.

"Huh..." she growled a hum.

"I know it is a lot to take in, but in the morning we can head out to get you food and water" Danny smiled, acting like he didn't just drop that he was the son of an elder god or anything.

Kalani didn't seem to care, her pale purple eyes blinking, but she curled back up, and fell asleep.

Danny got into his bed, curling up in the soft covers, his eyes slowly closing.

Tomorrow will be a new day. And hopefully, a new life to live.
