Summary
King Aerys’ reign starts terribly - he is forced to claim the Iron Throne after the Great Spring Sickness takes the lives of his father and nephews. He is neither a warrior nor a politician, and so he has little interest in ruling over the Seven Kingdoms. He spends his days poring over heavy tomes filled with records of the olden days, of dragons and visions of ruin.
When he hears about a powerful seer dwelling in Oldtown, he summons her to court.
(In which a modern character tries to survive in Westeros and her knowledge of the books
causes some troublecomes in handy.)
