"Ruskin, it was your first and last time dragging me to the dentist promising a confectionery. I will not fall for the same trick twice. You won’t fool me again!"
"Of course I won’t, sir." Ruskin agreed with his grumpy employer. "You are very wise. You just let your guard down."
"I promise that it will never happen in the future." Milverton swore, not noticing Ruskin's hidden smirk. Unlike him, Ruskin was sure that it would indeed happen again. Mr. Milverton will forget about this by next year.
After all, Ruskin pulled this trick every year and it always worked.
