How can your soulmate be a monster when you're a hero sworn to destroy them? That's a question Kamikaze asks himself every damned day, especially whilst loitering in the exercise yard with other assets. However, the situation he finds himself in doesn't like feats of intellectualism. His job is to kill, not muse upon life and its difficulties.
“You're a monster, idiot, no matter how pretty you are. Stop navel gazing like a human.” says one of the creatures who, while not a friend, is at least not continuously hostile to him. When he doesn't respond except to grin haughtily, the beast shuffles off, muttering to itself about Earthlings.
Kamikaze continues to sit on the ground, there being few accommodations made for human shaped and sized monsters like him, since monsters like him are so rare. There's few accommodations made for any of them, because they're slaves. And because they're slaves, he attempts to get the idea of love out of his mind. There's no point, his handler will use it against him in some terrible way, too terrible to contemplate. Also, he and the female he has his eye on don't share compatible physiology. Their union can go nowhere.
