Taking Care of Family
When Tony was actually sent to prison on the bad evidence but gifted words of the FBI agent Sacks and his cohort, the forensic expert, who had worked in Abby’s lab until the trial, he took a good long look at them and memorized their faces and words. Their voices and mannerisms. Taking care to get his affairs in order as his defense attorney told him to do before the jury came back with their guilty verdict.
One of those things he did was call in his marker to Mike to get him transferred to where he would be taken care of and to get him a gods be damned lawyer who would actually work to get him a new trial and get the evidence that Sacks had covered up heard.
He was transferred to Philly’s federal prison and into the arms of family. His bounty dismissed as it was acknowledged he had only been doing as he had been told, nothing personal. All was forgiven and he had returned to the family as the prodigal son.
The high-powered attorney forced the move of the new trial to another venue given the fact that the defendant was a known entity in DC and had enemies there. He had also gone straight to the Virginia Supreme Court to force the feds to give up the evidence that had been suppressed to get the new trial in Maryland and not DC, or its environs, with sanctions on the FBI for the suppression of said evidence in the death penalty case.
The new trial was to be held while Tony was in isolation as being a cop turned fed and being watched and cared for by his attorney’s staff so no funny business could be done against him or “accidents”.
Meanwhile warrants for the actual background check done on the lab tech that had been hired to be Abby’s second and helper, with a secondary one with full finger and palm prints re-done and DNA exam on the lab techs themselves for processing at the OIG lab to take the matter completely out of the agencies in questions hands.
This process took the main witness in the case against Tony out with an arrest warrant from the OIG and DCIS for his perjury in the case against Tony and his use of the lab to fake the evidence use against him as he had done before enough to be fired from another lab and actually banned from labs across the country. Which put any federal lab he was hired to work in out of compliance and ANY evidence he was in the lab while it was worked on having to be re-done in case it was sabotaged. Including Tony’s case. Which was proven that the legs had been on a body that had been through the morgue with all the chemical compounds that went with that in them. None of which had been tested for or any other testing of blood or chemicals on the legs at all.
Tony’s case was overturned with prejudice and the immediate lawsuit against Chip and Sacks was made as well as against both federal agencies for millions of dollars in recompence as they had defamed him and sent him to prison due to non-compliance with the actual laws.
They all settled out of court for unspecified amounts though Chip and Sacks just disappeared from the houses they were staying at until their trials. Dead fish were in their beds as the only evidence.
And Tony?
He went back home to the family that stood by him in his time of need, having a big party when he returned home to Mike’s community houses. Taking up his old job as security and network person for the younger and upcoming set in the family.
