Summary
The reality of her situation was slowly ripping Sophie apart.
The reality of what she had done- how she had damned her own child to the same life that she had suffered oh so greatly from. The life of being a bastard to a nobleman.
As she slowly lay the basket on the ground, Sophie let out a small sob and pressed her most precious baby against her chest- one last time.
“Forgive me, dearest. But your father is a kind man, he will care for you…” Sophie whispered in despair as she kissed the head of her child.
Without much ado, she placed the bebe in the cozy basket, laid atop the blankets a letter and finally knocked on the door, before disappearing in the shadows of the night.
