Yu was hard to understand.
Well...not hard to understand, but hard to get to know. Or at least that's what Yosuke thought. On the outside he seemed like an open book, but as more time went on he realized he didn't know a thing about Yu. Although soon Yosuke started to notice small things about him.
Of course there was the more obvious things about him. Like his normal blank facial expression, or his blunt but honest replies to things, as well as his ability to be a great listener when needed.Then there were the more subtle and easily overlooked things he does. He was quite quiet (especially for some one of his hight), hardly ever talked about himself or his personal preferences about things. Yosuke also found that despite his very friendly demeanor and his inability to say no, it wasn't to hard (to Yosuke anyways) to see that he was a bit standoffish.
It almost concerns him how much he's noticed things about Yu compared to the others, mainly Chie, Yukikio, Kanji, and Teddie. Considering the fact that he seemed to be only one that picked on the fact that Yu isn't big on physical touch. Of course unless it's Nanko.
Aside from those few things Yosuke didn't know jack-shit about him, and that's something he has to change. It was probably about time the investigation team asked Yu what he wanted to do on their free days for once. So Yosuke guessed he'd take the first step.

"Hey! What's up Partner?"
It had been a fairly calm and slow day at Junes, and Yosuke's dad had let him off surprisingly early. So naturally, he was taking this as an opportunity to get to know his best friend better.
"Nothing much really. I was just hanging around Samagawa flood plain" Yu answers. "What's up? Did you need something "
Yosuke let's out a short laugh. "I was gonna if you wanted hang out"
"Sure, I wouldn't mind. So where did you wanna go?" Yu asked.
"Well...I was actually thinking you should pick where we hangout at today"
"Me...why?" Yu sounded genuinely confused.
"I mean, me and everyone else usually just take you anywhere we want, why not let you pick for once. I promise i won't complain bud." Yosuke only heard Silence for a few seconds.
"Well..." Yu started "If you really don't mind, I'd like to hangout by the flood plain"
"Alright then, see ya there"

"So you really like cats then, huh?" Yosuke couldn't but smirk at scene before him.
Yu was almost completely surrounded by at least over ten cats, most of them trying to climb him to get some of the cat treats he had brought with him. To be honest, Yosuke didn't even know half of these cats even lived in Inaba. Some even had collars! And here sat Yu in the middle of all it feeding and peting them.
"Yeah, you can say that. I think so anyways." Yu said calmly, gently petting one of the cats currently in his arms.
Yosuke looks down at him. "It's little funny you know, I always kinda pinned you as a dog person."
"Really?" Yu looked up at him, head tilting to the side with a bit a confusion. Something Yosuke could literally see -has seen- a dog do.
Scratching the back his own head, Yosuke continued. "Well, I think it's just your personality you know. It similar I geuss. I mean you are basically the leader of our pack, you could say, if that makes any sense." Damn that was sounded stupid.
"Huh...," Yu wasn't looking at him anymore. Instead opting to look down at the cat in his lap, stroking it a bit less gently. "Well I do like cats better, there less hastle, quieter too."
Yosuke wasn't sure if it was what he said, and couldn't be sure if it was just him, but the smile on Yu face seemed a bit more strained that before. But before Yosuke could ask, Yu's phone pinged, startling the cats off of him.
"Ah I have to get home now" Yu put his phone back in his pocket. "Sorry."
Yosuke could see the frown on his face."Nah, it's all good Partner. I'll see you tomorrow at school." He said looking Yu
Yu nodded back. Although he still seemed to be bothered by something, though Yosuke couldn't place it. He'll ask him next time he supposed.
"Oh and remember, you can call me too you know. And I mean if YOU-" Yosuke said, poking a finger into Yu's shoulder. "-ever need anything or even want to just hangout you can call me, kay?
Yu stood there still for a minute. Likely processing what Yosuke said for a moment. Then finally nodding again.
"Ok, I will" Yu smiled more genuinely this time, "See you tomorrow. "
And with that Yu started walking back home. He couldn't help but wonder why Izanagi felt different, stronger, than before
