Chapter 1: A New Situation

Chapter Text

Ink was teleporting to AUs, curious about what the Creators were creating now. Everything seemed fine, normal. Seemingly nothing was new until he found a universe where the underground didn't exist. Monsters weren't a thing. There was an organization called the SCP foundation. Monsters were considered an anomaly by the eyes of the foundation. It almost made Ink throw up from excitement. Curiosity hit him hard before he realized he was pacing around, taking everything in. Everything looked fine and golly on the surface. Just humans on the surface, doing their normal stuff. It made him think about what kind of anomalies lay under the calm and normal environment.

Meanwhile, in the foundation, there was a talk about the anomaly (Ink). The only information that the foundation had about the anomaly right now was that it was a living and moving skeleton that appeared out of nowhere. It didn't help his case that it was hiding away from public. Ink didn't want to mess up this universe by letting him get seen by people. The [REDACTED] MTF team was assigned to this mission. Negotiate, capture, bring it in for questioning. The team grabbed their weapons, gears and radios.

Agent Barret: “Are you all ready?”

The trio said "Yes sir” in unison. So they began to drive and a hour later, they arrived at the place where the energy signature was coming from. They stopped a few miles away, getting out of the foundation car.

Agent Barret: "Well, it should be around somewhere.”

He looked around with calculating eyes.

Agent Zale: “Do the encounters of anomalies always have to be in the forests?”

He said with disappointment. He couldn't stop complaining, could he?

Agent Helen shot him a sharp look. She looked around in the snowy forest.

Agent Helen: “Its probably trying to stay hidden. We should get going before we lose track of it.”

Agent Ben: “Yeah, she is right. We don't want to lose the anomaly. Imagine how much lecture we would get from the higher ups."

He frowned, definitely not liking the thought.

Agent Zale: “Oh, dont you even jinx it, Ben.”

They began to walk. After some minutes of walking, they spotted the skeleton. He was curiously sketching out the environment and a nearby lake. The group hid behind the trees to get a better look and try to see if it was hostile.

Agent Helen: "Is this the anomaly?”

She raised an eyebrow. It was… certainly a colorful skeleton.

Agent Barret: "Positive. It seems to be non-hostile for now.”

Agent Ben: "Its an artist? I thought i saw all of the strangest things in life. But an artist, walking skeleton? Thats new.”

Ink continued to sketch, at the same time reading the codes of this universe. He was fascinated by the foundation and them containing "anomalies”. It sounded a teeny tiny bit like Error, but it was obvious that they weren't out to kill. He exhaled, even though he didn't need to breathe. The team continued to watch, taking mental notes of the behavior. Ink looked around before standing up, about to leave for now.

The agents came out from their hiding spots. Ready for any hostility. They needed to be careful. After all, they didn't know what this anomaly could do. Ink’s eyes widened and his pupils turned into red and orange exclamation marks.

Damn it. He thought that the forest wouldn't have any people around. Now he was seen by the humans of this universe.

Agent Barret: “Freeze! Raise your hands up."

That came out colder than intended.

Agent Helen: “Whats your name?"

Just as Ink was about to say something, his eyes spotted the symbol that the agents had on their gears. Oh. The SCP foundation’s symbol. This was the foundation that he read about. And now he was an anomaly in their eyes. Great. Ink couldn't spend more time being seen.

Ink wished that he could chat but that wasnt really possible right now.

Ink: “Sorry!"

Agent Zale: "Hey, wait!—”

his body turned into a puddle of ink, making him disappear. The group looked dumbfounded. They stared at the ground where it teleport away, then at eachother.

Zale then stared at Ben. Glaring.

Agent Zale: "You jinxed it.”

The higher-ups were gonna eat them alive.
