Goodbye Teyvet, Hello Miraland

Summary:

Somehow Lumine finds herself in Miraland, and meets a few other people who have been sent here too.

Notes:

A small break from the Stardew Valley x Coral Island fics, which will be back tomorrow. I wanted to make the 100th fic for this series very special, so it just had to be Nikki, since she was in the first fanfic I wrote almost five years ago.

Work Text:

Lumine was tired.Tired of fighting the Abyss order, which included her brother Aether. Tired of dealing with the Fatui and Archons and never ending crisis. It was exhausting.

I need a vacation. She thought as she got up from her bed and moved to her wardrobe. Maybe she could invite someone to just chill and hang out somewhere, she hasn’t done that in a while. She opened her wardrobe, and the world became pink.

“What was that?” Lumine blinked. The world was no longer pink, but it wasn’t familiar either. She was in the center of a room which looked like it had been abandoned for many years. Bright light came through broken stained glass windows, and in the distance someone was singing. With no other clue, she walked in the direction of the song.

Going through a hallway lined with more stained glass windows, Lumine arrived in an empty overgrown courtyard. She continued walking in the direction of the noise, which was clear enough now that she realized it wasn’t a song, but instead a poem.

Finally, she found the source of the noise. It was coming from a large blue dragon? He was reciting a poem to a girl with pink hair, a cowboy, and a white cat in a yellow cloak. An odd group, but Lumine had been around odder. Maybe one of them had answers on how she got here.

She waited for the dragon’s poem to stop before approaching them.

“Hello. I’m the Traveler, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Where in Teyvet are we?”

The group shared a puzzled looked before the pink haired girl asked.

“We’re in Wishfield, part of the Lovecraft Kingdom, in Miraland. I’ve never heard of Teyvet before,” She looked up at the cowboy.

“Have you heard of it before Arthur?”

“I can’t say I have,”

“Oh! Are you from another world?” The cat asked. “We sure have been getting a lot of those lately,”

“Another world?” Lumine asked. “This isn't Teyvet at all?”

The pink haired girl shook her head.

For a moment, Lumine was stunned. Five hundred years ago, she tried to leave Teyvet with Aether, but was stopped, and now she had done it without even trying to. She wanted to laugh, but it wouldn’t escape her throat. She left, but Aether was still there.

“Do you know any way for me to get back home?”

“Sorry, I don’t. Until then, you can stay with Momo, Arthur, and me. We all came from different worlds, maybe together we can find a way back,”

“That would be nice, thank you. . .”

“Oh, I keep forgetting to introduce myself. I’m Nikki, and these are my friends Momo.” She pointed to the cat.

“Arthur,” The cowboy.

“And Kilo,” The dragon.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Kilo said. “I never heard of this Teyvet before, learning about new places always gives me so much inspiration for new poems. In fact, the poem I was reciting before you arrived was inspired from the world Arthur came from. Do you mind telling me about Teyvet?”

“Maybe another Kilo, she just got here after all.” Nikki said.

“You’re right. Well, when you feel like talking to me, I’ll be here with Chirpy,”

Nikki and Momo waved to Kilo as they started walking away with Arthur. Lumine followed them, still trying to wrap her head around her sudden arrival to this new world.

At least this arrival was more peaceful than my last one. She thought as they walked on a quiet forest path towards a small town in the distance. She looked at Nikki, who was laughing at something Momo had said. She noticed Lumine staring, and gave her a breathtaking smile. And with more pleasant company.
