Work Text:

Fluixon couldn’t help but stare at the green eyed boy in front of him.
Saparata.
His smile was infectious, and his laugh was like pure joy to Fluixon’s ears.
He had to keep reminding himself that it was all wrong. He wasn’t supposed to love Saparata. It was impossible to love Saparata.
But god, his smile…
And his shining sea green eyes.
Fluixon noticed every little detail of Saparata’s face, he had counted out the freckles dotting his nose possibly tens of times, he had memorized his scent, which was of cinnamon and simultaneously; peppermints.
Fluixon would normally hate both of those things, but he found that Saparata’s scent was so oddly enticing, not sexually—not at all, but like he wished to wrap his arms around the boy and breathe in his scent. “Fluixon.” He sat up straight in his chair, staring at his math teacher as she asked him a question. Jesus fuck he didn’t know. “Fluixon, since you’re so interested; solve for X on the board.” Jesus fucking Christ what were these exponents? He stared at the question, before his fingers flew across the chalk board. “(10^2x^5 x 2^4x^5)^0 = X…” He mumbled to himself, calculating the exponents in rapid succession. “Show your work.” He tried, and failed to bite his tongue. “Do you think I have a calculator in my sleeve Ms. Cruz?” The answer was 1. Any base raised to the exponent of 0 was automatically equal to 1, no computation needed. But it seemed only he and Saparata knew that. The two locked eyes for a split second. But in that split second, years of longing flew out in sparks only the two of them could ever feel. “The answer is one.” Ms. Cruz tried to hide her displeasure at his success, as she dismissed him to his seat. “That was sick as fuck you know.” A flush began to bloom across the amethyst eyed boy’s face, as he mumbled some basic excuse under his breath. “What was that Flux?” A smirk danced across Saparata’s face, as he watched Fluixon practically squirm in his chair. He enjoyed it. Because he felt the exact same way.
