"Mel!"
Mel turns toward the sound of her name, and there she is. Shuri.
They met after Val dragged Mel to "mediate" when she went to talk to her ex-husband. Apparently Ross had the same idea, because he'd asked Shuri to go along with him. The two had spent the entire time talking (which Val absolutely chewed her out for afterward) and exchanged numbers.
And now, this is their first time seeing each other in person since they got together six months ago.
Mel smiles, waving as Shuri walks over. As soon as she's close enough, Mel pulls her into a hug. She's sure she probably hugs her a little too tight, but Shuri doesn't seem to mind, laughing as she hugs Mel just as tight.
"God, I missed you," Mel mutters into Shuri's shoulder, pressing a kiss to the fabric of her coat.
"I know," Shuri responds easily, pulling back to look at Mel properly. "I missed you too."
And then Shuri's kissing her. And, wow, Mel has no idea how she's gone so long without this.
