The first thing Ace noticed when he woke was the sound of thunder. Loud. Obnoxious. It reminded him too much of his fathers voice, which isn’t what he wanted to think about when he first woke. He sat up slowly, his back and ass aching from last night. Ace winced at the thought, it made him want to curl up in a ball without being bothered by anyone, and cry. The overwhelming amount of shame he had made him sick, and made him tear up in his eyes. But he couldn’t. Crying was weak, and he shouldn’t be any more weak than he already was. So he sucked it in and wiped any wetness from his eyes.
Ace was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn’t remember that his father was laying beside him as a wave of dread and shame washed over him. Damnit, this wasn’t good… He watches his father for a long moment and he breathes much easier when he sees that he didn’t wake up. Which was good. But now Ace wanted to get out of this bed. Of this stupid fucking apartment. Which is exactly what he does.

When Ace stepped out of the apartment, he was almost immediately soaked in rain, which made Ace groan internally for not bringing an umbrella. Whelp, already too damn late. He sighed as he started to walk down the sidewalk, the one he had walked down many times before. It made it easier to not think about what happens in that godforsaken apartment. It made him disgusted with himself. At least his father was good at knowing where to keep the marks so no one asks questions. (-Sometimes he wishes someone would ask-) But he shouldn’t be thinking of him. It was the whole reason he came out here anyways. Ace sighed as he continued walking down the sidewalk, staring down at his shoes, which made him unaware of his surroundings. Something he didn’t realize until it was too late.
“Ah- Shit!” Ace cursed as he bumped into someone taken off by surprise he let out a startled yelp as he bumped into the person, his eyes widened in horror, and although he hadn’t seen who he bumped into, he was sure someone was gonna hit him. “Oh, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to bump into you!” Ace said, bowing his head, not wanting to look up at the person and see their disgust at someone like him bumping into them. He waited and waited for that sharp pain on his cheek from a hit, but it never came. Ace slowly raised his head and his eyes widened even more at what he saw.
Who stood in front of Ace happened to be another boy around his age it seemed. His hair was a green color, slightly curly, and his bright green eyes widened in disbelief at looking at Ace. He slowly stood up all the way to look at the boy. “H-hello?” Ace said his voice slightly trembling from nerves, waving slightly as it seemed that the boy wasn’t really paying attention.
The boy’s attention snapped back to Ace, his expression embarrassed as he bowed, muttering quick apologies. “It’s… uhm, alright…” Ace said, now a bit unsure of himself. The green boy raised himself as he looked at Ace with a surprised look. “W-what?” He said, surprise written across his face. “It’s okay, I wasn’t looking where I was going… that was my fault..” Ace was also very surprised, but it seemed that he was much better at hiding it than the green boy in front of him.
The green boy looked very flustered, and it seemed that he was shifting his stance nervously, as he stopped bowing and muttering apologies. Both of the boys stood on the sidewalk awkwardly, both waiting for something to happen. “So, what’s your name..?” Ace asked, hoping not to be too weird or pushy. “It’s Izuku Midoriya…” Ace relaxed at the name. Finally, “Ah, nice to meet you Midoriya… You can call me Ace.” Ace said, trying not to make this too awkward.
Izuku seemed to watch Ace with an oddly intense look, almost trying to see if there was something strange with Ace. Which was weird. “I should probably go… I don’t want to bother you too long.” Ace spoke up awkwardly, shifting as he backed up, not wanting to be a bother any longer. Plus his father would probably be pissed if he knew that Ace went for a walk again for the fifth time this month.

It was a couple weeks after Izuku and Ace met. And it wasn’t going well for either of them, Ace’s father had gotten worse, and Izuku had been getting bullied relentlessly. Luckily, they both met up again. Almost in the same way as last time.
Izuku winced when he walked, the burn on his shoulder hurting more than he expected. It had gotten worse recently, which made him feel anxious, but he still had to deal with it. There was no one he could turn to. He held his notebook close to himself, glancing up, it was the mid afternoon, he had gotten out of school and was walking home.
Izuku felt a wave of panic wash through him in a slip second as he bumped into someone. Again? He was so clumsy sometimes. He was just about to apologize when he saw who it was. It was the one kid… Ace was his name. He was pretty sure it’s his name anyway.
Izuku winced when Ace looked at him, he looked like how he was feeling right now. Not very good. Damn… what happened to him?

Ace froze when he saw the green haired boy bump into him, looking at the boy. He saw him wince, which was strange. Was he hurt or something? Ace just decided to ignore it though, shifting awkwardly as the two boys just stared at each other. Ace looked down at the notebook in Midoriya’s hand. He was holding it tightly, as if protecting it, like someone was going to suddenly take it from him. Strange. Whatever.
Ace just realized that Midoriya was around the same age as him, he had the middle school outfit on, which he didn’t expect, but he guessed neither of them really looked their age. “Hey again…” Ace said awkwardly, wondering if he should just walk away from this awkward conversation. But stopped when he heard Midoriya speak up quietly.
“Uhm… H-hi…” Midoriya stuttered out awkwardly, not helping the situation at all. “Hello again.” Ace said, staring at him. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, since they were feeling cold from the wind brought against his skin without mercy.
Ace watched Midoriya, eyeing the notebook he just noticed. “What’s that you got..?” Has asked, tilting his head to look better at the notebook. He was slightly surprised when Midoriya instinctively took his notebook out of Ace’s view, a weirdly scared look on his face.
“Hey, hey. Calm down. Nothing’s gonna happen. You alright?” Ace asked, despite his nerves while talking to Midoriya. He had gotten much much better at that recently than he thought he would. Guess his father… getting worse helps that fact. Midoriya took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and Ace kept a safe distance.
“So, how old are you, kid?” Ace asked, to try and take his mind off whatever he was thinking about. Ace thought that Midoriya was younger than him. He knew that he didn’t look any better than Midoriya… probably looked worse than him right now. “Oh I’m 14…” Midoriya mumbled, staring down at the sidewalk nervously. Damn, this kid was suffering with some bad anxiety, wasn’t he?
“Ah, nice. Me too.” Ace said with a shrug, trying to sound as casual as he can. Midoriya’s head snapped up at Ace to stare. “R-really..?” He stuttered slightly. Ace nodded his head as he leaned against the nearest wall, seeming like they were gonna have a conversation for a little bit. Plus his legs were still hurting from a couple days ago. Fucking asshole father.
“So, what are you doing out here?” Ace asked, with a neutral expression on his face, picking at a scab on his skin while he asked h question. Midoriya looked a little surprised at the question, but he answered anyway. “Oh… I just got out of school.” He mumbled, his eyes gazing away from Ace and somewhere else. He’s probably thinking about something, Ace thought to himself with a sigh as he pushed himself off the wall. “Well, I won’t bother you anymore than I already have. I’ll be taking my leave.” Ace said dusting himself off, as he waved, watching as Midoriya waved back, and then he began walking away. Ace paused before he began to as well. He really didn’t want to go home to that monster. Well, not like he had a choice.

Ace felt dirty. And exhausted. He knew he needed to take a shower, but he really didn’t have the energy. He sighed, trying his best to make the least amount of sound possible as he sat up with a little more struggle than usual. He looked beside him, his gaze turning into a scowl as he looked at his father beside him. Yep, time to get up and away from him.
It only took him a minute to stand up, making sure to not wake his father while he did so. He didn’t have to worry about taking his clothes off for his shower, since they happen to already be off. He stood in his bathroom, locking the door behind him as he got all the stuff he would need for his shower. And to take his mind off his horrid life right now. As Ace stepped into the shower, the warm water he had turned on moments ago had been spraying on his back, easing the pain in his body and mind. It felt… nice. Not having to think about all the things he’s fucked up recently.
Ace leaned against the shower wall, his head hitting the wall with a quiet noise, muffled by the sound of water hitting him. He had always loved showers. Being alone. Despite how many boundaries his father pushed, he had never interrupted Ace’s shower on purpose. And he was very glad for that. He froze a little, hearing a familiar pair of footsteps coming from the bedroom that made Ace shudder. Well, his father was awake. Probably waiting for Ace to come out of the shower. It made him want to take even longer, but he knew how impatient his father was.
Ace took the time to wash himself. Every part of his body he could reach. He felt filthy. And wanted to get it off as soon as possible. He scrubbed his skin until it grew red, and was painful. His thoughts had started to dwell on Midoriya, since he was the only new person who had actually spoken to him in a respectful way. The only person he ever really saw was his father, and he’s not exactly the best person to speak to. The room was always stuffy and awkward whenever they spoke. And whenever Ace heard his father’s voice it made him think of his past experiences. And… he hated thinking of that. It made him disgusted with himself.
It only took Ace a few more minutes to be done in the shower, turning off the water as he sighed. He didn’t want whatever was going to happen, to happen. It made his stomach have butterflies. Ace quickly put on a towel, making sure his hair and body were as dry as they could be. With a sigh, he walked over to where the mirror in the bathroom was. He looked at his reflection in disgust. Damnit. There were still a couple of bruises… Well, no more shorts or T-shirts. Just his luck.
Before Ace got out of the shower, he put on his clothes, not exactly wanting his father to see him just in a towel. And he froze as he heard another voice he didn’t recognize. What the hell? Ace pulled down his sleeves to his long sleeved shirt, covering up the mess his arm looked like. He pushed open the bathroom door as soon as he made sure every visible mark was covered. He froze when he was a woman around his fathers age in the living room.
“Father? Who is this?” Ace asked quietly, trying his best to not seem tense and nervous, looking in between his father and this woman. “Oh Ace! Perfect timing! This is Sato, your new mother.” That statement made Ace shiver in his skin, he crossed his arms, his fingers digging into his arms. “Don’t joke with me father…” Ace muttered, struggling to believe this at all. Sato seemed to be a nice woman. Someone who Ace’s father didn’t deserve. No one else should be corrupted by him. Broken down.
“Oh, stop joking! This is going to be your new mother! We’re already engaged!” That statement made Ace sick to his stomach, but he held back anything he was going to say next. “Ah. Alright… So is she going to be staying with us..?” Ace asked, hoping for him to say yes. As selfish as it would be, the attention wouldn’t be towards him anymore. He would be able to look at himself in the mirror and not be disgusted. “Well, she sure is! She’s moving in today actually! So some things are going to change.”
A wave of relief washed over him, finally. Free at last. “What kind of changes..?” Ace mumbled, a little curious. He wondered what the changes would be. How different it would make his life. Maybe he could finally sleep alone? Without his father? The thought alone almost brought him to tears of relief. “Well, first of all, you are going to be sleeping on the couch from now on. So move all of your shit to where it’ll be out of my, and Sato’s way.” Ace nods his head, already standing up to grab his stuff. He didn’t exactly have a lot of things, just a few note books, things to write with, and clothes. He already had his phone, and his charger with him. Ace placed his stuff in the corner of the living room so it’d be out of the way.
“Good. That’s all. Now, try not to be a problem, and talk with your new mom. I’m going to be out for a while at the bar. See you sweetie.” Ace’s dad said, kissing Sato’s forehead as he was walking out, his shoes already on.
Ace then sat down on the couch quietly, his gaze on the floor as he thought through all of the racing thoughts he had earlier. “You know. You’re quite… cute.” Sato’s voice came out, distributing Ace’s thoughts. “Oh. Thanks..” He muttered quietly, looking up at Sato. He froze up a little as he saw that she was standing right in front of him. He backed up against the couch a little more, letting her sit down if she wanted. Ace was now feeling a little uncomfortable.
“Come here Ace…” Sato said, her voice low and almost… seductive..? No. No… please no… Ace swallowed hard, hoping and praying to all the gods that could exist that this wasn’t what he thought it was. Ace scooted towards Sato slowly and carefully. Her gaze was going up and down his body as she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. “Don’t be shy. Get closer…” Ace shivered in fear, his eyes wide as he was now almost completely frozen. No wonder why this girl was dating his dad. They were acting pretty similar.
Ace’s mind went blank as soon as he felt a forceful kiss against his lips, his body frozen and his mind going blank. All he could do was feel. Fuck. Why couldn’t this just end? He wanted this feeling to stop.
