Work Text:

It had been a few days since Jaron last messaged him and he was beginning to worry. Rek paced back and forth checking his communicator every so often for any message from his hat wearing friend, but nothing. He knew Jaron was working on this massive cookie project somewhere on the server that was causing these weird time problems but he hadn’t stopped by since Jaron had started, and even then Jaron looked tired. “Ughh Jaron you're worrying me…maybe a quick stop wouldn't hurt..” Rek knew Jaron wasn’t a big fan of visitors especially when working on big projects but he just wanted to make sure his buddy was safe. He tossed on his elytra and took off in the direction of the jungle, hoping his friend would be there.

It took awhile to get there since he had only been there once and it was thousands of blocks away. A Giant lag spike hit him when he entered the jungle, making him wince in pain. “Ow bro…What could be happening to have such an aggressive spike…?” he muttered. He landed on top of a tree to recover from the shock, and took the chance to look around. He spotted a few towers off on the other side of the jungle that must be from Jaron.

He floated down and landed on another tree not too far from a “small” island covered in redstone machines. “Holy moly…” Rek muttered and he climbed down a vine. The towers of farms stacked high above the tree tops, water pipes covering the floor and sky with items flowing through them. “Jaron?!” Rek swam through the river that separated the main jungle land to the island as he called for his friend.

The warden tapped his foot, making a sound to echo off the metal works to see if he could find anything. He walked though the giant industrial workings, admiring the work of it all. He stumbled into a hole filled with chests. He checked one out of curiosity and was surprised by the entire chest being filled with cookies. “Woh..”

He continued his look over to a giant wheat field filled with villagers and allays and multiple heavy power wheat fields stacked high right behind it. It was all so amazing how much Jaron had gotten done in such a short time. Speaking of Jaron..Where was he..?

He tapped his foot again and this time the sound hit something. He turned his head and tapped again. He followed the sound and stumbled right into a sleeping Jaron laying in the middle of the wheat field. He fell to the ground with a oof, startling the player awake. “Wa-huh? Rek..?”

Rek chuckled, “Hey Jaron..” Jaron sat up and rubbed his eyes, giving a small yawn. “Hi…what are you doing here..” He tilted his head to the side, his hat falling onto the ground. “Well I uh, got worried since you hadn’t messaged in a few days..and well I came to check on you.” He stood up and brushed the dirt off of himself, and lent a hand to help the sleepy Jaron up. “Now what are you doing sleeping in a wheat field?”

Jaron stumbled onto his feet, grabbing his hat and putting it back on in the process. “Mph, Well uh I was working on the field and must have fallen asleep..” He slumped against Rek and yawned again. Rek placed an arm around him growing slightly worried for Jarons health, When he gets into these challenges he always forgets to take care of himself…. “Alright buddy, how about we get you into an actual bed come on.”

It took Rek awhile to realize there wasn’t any actual bed on the island and had to make one with the stuff in his e-chest. He pulled the sleepy player into the bed and curled up next to him, Jaron happily warm and comfortable in Rek's arms fell back asleep rather quickly. His hat falling off the side of the bed and back onto the ground. The gentle hum of Rek’s heart lulled him to sleep.

The warden placed a gentle kiss on the players forehead, “Goodnight Jaron.” The simple hum of running machines and splashes of the water tubes echoing around the two players as day turned to night. And soon Rek too fell asleep. Both happy in one another's arms.
