Work Text:

"What - what're you doing to me?" Bill hated how much her voice shook. This was wrong. All of this was so very wrong. She was here to learn, to uncover the secrets of the universe she had always been curious about, not whatever this was.

"You want the secrets of the cosmos? I will give you them and so much more, I promise." The voice was a snarl now, nothing like the kind, enticing one that had invited her to this office as a student. To study, even though she didn't have the money or the connections to get a place.

She should've run when she saw the other girl. Blond, a timeless beauty about her, with hungry eyes. But she was pretty and the way she'd licked her lips... Well, to be honest, Bill had hoped to get a chance to speak with her alone. Without the professor.

The professor who had offered her a glass of rich red wine when she'd come in, that smelled of metal, who had offered her food and ate none herself, who was quite frankly weird, and also out of the world gorgeous. Yeah, she should've run.

Because several sips into the wine she was feeling far more bedraggled than she should be, blinking slowly, trying to keep her eyes open. "What did you put in there? What do you want?" She wasn't sure if the words were still coming out in one piece.

"I want you. Your mind. You desire to learn, you yearn for it, much like this one once did," Bill could feel hands on her shoulders, stroking her back, her chest, the girl from before leaning around, studying her with wicked eyes. Her tongue running over her teeth that looked crazy sharp through the haze. "Later, Allison. This one is mine. I don't want a repeat of last time." A shiver ran over her spine, the voice ice cold control, the girl, Allison, flinching as if yanked on a leash, pulling her hands close to her chest, rubbing her wrists.

"I offer you a choice." Somehow, the professor's words were clear in her mind even as everything else swam around her. "An eternity of knowledge, time to explore everything, or I give you another dose of my invention, let that one have a little nip, and you wake up tomorrow somewhat anemic and decidedly forgetful."

Her red eyes were staring into Bill's, the tone almost casual but the gaze betraying the gravity. "What are you?" Bill tried again, hopeful this time the words might at least be intelligible. A smile drew across those cruel lips, revealing teeth. Definitely far too sharp. "I don't need to tell you, Bill Potts. You are far too bright for that."

She took a sip from her own glass, then set it down with a clang. "Now. Time for you to choose. Knowledge, or ignorance?"
