    He watched as Robb’s brow furrowed as he read it once before glancing up at Jon. He then quickly read it again, mouthing along with the words. “That’s it?” he finally asked. “What does it mean?”

    Jon glanced from his brother to his father, and he saw the question mirrored on his father’s face in the arch of his eyebrow. The answer fell from Jon’s lips, barely more than an utterance of breath, a benediction, “That they remember.”
