Chapter Text
The Overlords of Hell only met a few times a year and when they did, things never seemed to go well. There was always fighting over the same three topics and it never seemed to amount to anything. The conversation was always about who owned the most souls, who was the current most powerful, and of course, the ever popular topic of the King of Hell for some reason. There were always debates as to his true reason for helping at the Hazbin Hotel.
The usual assumption was always that he was plotting for power and was using his daughter as a cover. This seemed unlikely, but it was the only reason any of them could possibly fathom.
Which is why it came as a huge shock when the King himself walked in on their meeting moments later.
Carmilla was in the middle of a new weapons demonstration, ignoring the sound of the arguing between Zestial and Velvette when her assistant buzzed her on the intercom. “Ma’am, there is a visitor heading up your way. Says he’s the king of Hell?” Carmilla stopped in her tracks as the other voices trailed off around her. “Okay. Sounds like we can’t stop him.” Carmilla said with a slight shake in her voice.
They all waited in silence because this was beyond odd to everyone. Well, everyone except one person.
The door flew open at that moment. And there he stood, in his short glory. He was dressed in a white suit with matching top hat and carried a walking stick with an apple on the top. He smiled as he surveyed the room.
“Hello everyone. I’m very sorry to interrupt your meeting, but I need to speak to my partner about an emergency we have encountered at the hotel. Alastor, do you have a moment?” Lucifer said smiling at the tall man in red who never stopped smiling but now was turning a faint shade of red in the face.
“Anything for you, dear. Excuse me for a moment.” He said to the rest of the overlords, all of whom were staring open mouthed at them as they exited the room.
“What was this emergency that was so dire you needed to reveal yourself in the most ridiculous way?” Alastor asked his partner when they were out of earshot of the other overlords. Lucifer smiled and took his hand when he replied. “Because I missed you. And because Niffty is definitely stuck in the wall somewhere chasing bugs.” Alastor was blushing harder at that. “Why do I find the first to be more a believable reason you would find me.” He rolled his eyes playfully as Luci smiled up at him. “I can find the little one when I get back later. And I did miss you too. Even if it’s only been three hours.”
Alastor smiled as his partner kissed his hand he was still holding before he made a big show letting go before walking away. “I'll see you later, dear!” He called back. “Love you!” Al called back “I love you too!” Before walking back to his meeting where he knew what awaited him.
He was immediately overwhelmed with questions from every voice in the room. The most common questions asked were “Since when do you like people?” and “Since when are you interested in dating?” And of course “What does the princess think?” He waited until the noise had somewhat died down before answering.
“To answer most of your questions, no this is not a hostage situation. Yes, Charlie is okay with it, she actively encourages our relationship. There has not been a week she has not told me how glad she is to have both me and her father as parents. I only like a few people and have been interested in dating even fewer. Lucifer and I have been together almost two years but none of you have noticed and I was not interested in telling you. Does anyone have any more questions?”
Everyone shook their heads in silence.” Good. I apologize for the interruption, Carmilla, please continue.” Al said, leaning back in his seat.
When he returned to the hotel hours later and had saved Niffty from the wall, Alastor went to find his stepdaughter Charlie. As expected she was in her office prepping for her next therapy session. She smiled when she noticed him. “Hey dad, what’s up?” He replied “Oh nothing much. Only your father revealed our relationship to all of Hell’s most powerful overlords this morning.”
She started laughing at that. “How did they take that news? And how are you still not being asked questions?” He laughed with her. “I shut down all the questions as quickly as I could. However, I do think we should prepare ourselves for the next few days my dear. I suspect we will have many curious visitors over the next few days.”
Oh how right he was.
