As a demon, your life was inherently boring. Same routines, same people to watch, same shadows to reside within. Sure, it was quite thrilling to appear in human’s “dreams” after having your fun with them, but they were all the same. Their emotions never varied upon your uncanny appearances; humans turned to one feeling. Fear. That’s what you should be after, right? It’s satisfying to watch as it spills out of people, right? Sure, until that feeling drives them to commit some ancient anti-demonic ritual that has already been debunked on Reddit. At that point it isn’t even fun so you might as well just leave them alone.
