Summary
Satoru was nine when he decided that he'd marry and propose to Itadori Yuuji.
Instead of a happy face and a kiss, Satoru was met with a rejection.
“Satoru-kun, you are nine. I am fourteen. I am too old for you,” Yuuji said as he tenderly stroked Satoru’s wet cheeks.
“But I love you! I have loved you since I was seven!” he argued, voice cracking despite his effort to sound composed.
“Okay,” he said at last. “How about this. If by the time you are seventeen you still want me, I will marry you.”
Hope slowly filtered back into him, steady and bright. The sting of rejection dulled, replaced by a determination stronger than anything. If there was one person Satoru trusted absolutely, it was himself. His own certainty. His own will.
“Then I will propose to you again when I’m seventeen.”
