    She paused, thrown completely off, and looked up at him. “As an ice cream flavor?” Her brow furrowed. “Because you’d be cookies and cream, no arguments there.” She finished with a small, triumphant grin, as she’d solved it.

    Clark didn’t smile. “I just mean,” he lamented, shifting his weight, eyes dropping to the little table by the window, “in life. And maybe… in bed. Mostly in life.”

    That wiped the grin right off her face. She blinked, once, clearly recalibrating. “Clark Kent,” she questioned carefully, “are you seriously asking me this?”
