Chapter Text
Author's note: This is a new idea I have been working on, I hope you enjoy this new story!
Harry Potter knew he was smart, or at least he thought so, he was very proud of being smart. He knew his auntie and her family didn’t like him, sure he didn’t know the reason, but he knew how they felt. And he knew he would get to attend school when he turned eleven – he had overheard them talking on night from his bedroom under the stairs. And that was exciting, he couldn’t go to school with Dudley, so he imagine this school that would take him in was a special school – maybe he could even find people who could see the friendly colourful wisps that seemed to cling to him – that was exciting for him!
Then a letter came for him, addressed to him, he was sure as it didn’t look like the normal post for his auntie or uncle. But as always he took all the post to his uncle, they seemed relieved at the look of the letter as Harry watched curiously. They prepared to go out in a rush – for the first time, taking Harry along with them.
And that is how he ended up in the office of a place called a bank, surrounded by beings he had never seen before, whilst they shared some features like him, they were also…. Not. He couldn’t explain it, the wisps clung to one of the few that were talking in a hurried and unknown language, the same one who had given him a box with juice inside, it was sweet and Harry was enjoying it, watching the wisps dance around the goblins almost excitedly – like a dog he had seen passing by the park once. They seemed to like these beings and he trusted the Wisps to have a good sense if they were nice or not
“Ah Mr. Potter is every okay?” One of the creature questioned, Harry frowned and wondered how he could express his thoughts, he was told he could not speak, his aunt forbade it, so he had no reason to talk before. He could speak now, but how did one talk? Instead, Harry waved a hand towards the wisps, Whilst they looked int e vague direction, Harry realised they could not see them as he did, the one before him hummed lightly. Harry watched curiously, did this being know wat he was seeing? The other beings looked at the one closest to him as they looked up. “Mr. Potter, can you see something light? Like a wisp of a cloud?” The creature approached curiously. He nodded happily, the creature took out a broach from his pocket, Harry gasped, it was glowing like the wisps, he took it marvelling over it, how was it glowing like those wisps? It was beautiful, this creature had to be a very good being, the wisps seemed to agree, he was too busy marvelling at the broach as the being turned to the others “We need to do an inheritance test, now.”
Harry decided he liked Arn the Goblin, as the creature with the broach had introduced himself, they had taken some blood and dripped it on to some parchment – it had glowed a nice gold, but very different from the wisps - and they had immediately began rushing around, but Arn remained with him, protective, and kind, the same way he had seen his uncle act towards his cousin. It was odd for someone not family to act like this – he wondered if he was wrong about what he understood about family, he could ask Arn later. He had the wisps, so he had to be good.
Harry had been welcomed to join Arn for some lunch, Arn had told him they had located some family that had been searching a long time for him, and they would be arriving shortly. But that confused Harry, he had heard his aunt say she was his only family alive. So, how could he have family looking for him. He was curious, but also a little scared. But Arn assured him that he was very good friends with his living relative, and that they were happy to know Harry was there now – cause now – they would be able to care for him.
~*~*~*~
Seraphine Grant was a highly regarded witch around the world, even within Britian where their backwards ways had steadily grown worse of the last few decades. She remained on a team of the Unspeakables, lead by her, and her friends worked alongside her, all from her time. Whilst decades had past, their help with understanding and trying to learn Ancient magi left its mark, their aging seemed to have stilled – and whilst Sera had been most apologetic for it, they were fine. As Penny said, it gave her more time to try and help magical beasts too – for which Penny was helping her with her Vivarium – now using Ancient magic to set them up around the world, left in the care of centaurs and other intelligent beasts to guard against Wixen. Amit would continue to focus on the stars, Gareth his potions and concoctions, seeing how potions reacted when with ancient magic and not normal magic. Natty was a fiery as ever – whilst not having her mother’s gift, her sense and her adaptability had her learning to use Ancient magic, unlike the others, thus Sera helped her train in using it for battle. She was their knight – as she happily proclaimed herself. Being the guard of their group.
Sebastian Swallow had been apart of the group too, looking into ways to see if Ancient magic could be used for safe healing – Seraphine happy to continue looking to help Anne be free of her pain. Until the day came when he eventually decided she was not doi enough – that no one was… and at the dead of the night – had take Seraphine and Ominis’ newborn son, and fled. And for as much as the two looked with the aid of multiple magical creatures and goblins – like the ministry gave a damn - they could not find him again, either of them. Any trace of their son’s magic lost.
They had felt hopeless, the feelings intensified when a dark lord rose, only once they fell did they discover that Voldemort was a Gaunt, and now he was dead, the rightful lordship – the littler worth it had remaining – was now him. It brought up a lot of questions. Ominis should have been alerted to his Great-Great nephew’s circumstances the moment he attended Hogwarts. Furious the system had now failed another member of their family. Both were under the belief if the Ministry and Hogwarts id their due diligence -maybe, just maybe, the tragedy that befell their world could have been prevented. So since, they became more active for their own personal gain, Sera more selective in the work she took on for others. And Ominis, rebuilding the Gaunt name to fit the imagine he and his Aunt Nocturna had once wished for. He was using he gaining power to advocate for muggle raised Wixen, about the unfairness of not teaching them about their world, Hogwarts would only teach them magic, not their laws and traditions, ot their culture which was being stripped in favour of the Muggle traditions now. For children with magic, born into families that despised magic and thus would abuse, neglect or even kill the child. How much Wixen blood was being spilled just because they wanted to wait until the child was eleven – how many magical children were killed in this manner.
Seraphine sat back in her chair with a heavy sigh, she was looking over the paperwork from Penny who was currently in Japan, speaking with the Kitsunes about setting up a Vivarium for magic beasts there – it seemed to be going well. That was a relief to hear, magical beasts deserved peace from Wixen.
“You have a guest from the Bank.” Deek appeared next to her, Deek had followed Professor Weasley from Hogwarts once she retired, but had continued to help her conservation efforts for beasts, and when her once deputy headmistress passed, Deek came to work with the family permanently, they had brought the vivarium’s from the room of requirement out – combined them, and now sat as a green house within the gardens.
“A guest” she repeated curiously, not expecting anyone from the bank. “Please, lead them through Deek.” He nodded and soon returned with a stern looking Goblin.
“Lady Gaunt, may our Mother guide your hand and strengthen your will.” The Goblin bowed.
“Well met, Brother of Magic, may your enemies tremble at your name, and you vaults flow from prosperity.” Sera bowed in greeting. “What brings you to my home, Brother of Magic.”
“A young child was left at Gringotts, Lord Arn remains at his side, even now. He could see.” The Golin said, Sera’s eyes widened. “Lord Arn requested an immediate inheritance test…. And I must congratulate you… on finding your son’s lost bloodline.” Sera’s breath got caught in her throat.
“You found…”
“A great, great, great grandson. He is with Lord Arn, in the guest lunch chambers in the bank.” Sera stood and summoned her Ancient robe, it was pure white with runes of Gold that moved along the bottom of the hem as the sleeves, the symbol of her beloved mother- Lady Magic, upon its back, and shoulders.
“I shall head right away, Deek inform my husband.” Seraphine didn’t even wait, she rushed from the home, leaving a flurry of magic behind as she vanished.
