There's knowing better—being smart, recognizing risks, taking care, exercising restraint—and then there's this. Finding yourself alive, breathless and near-ecstatic with relief, heart pounding beneath each pore and sweat stinging your eyes, one more miraculous escape. When Robin feels like this (way more than is probably healthy, let alone statistically likely), all she wants to do is to pluck the cigarette from a pretty girl's hand, take a deep drag, then swing the girl in her arms, around and around, whooping, exhaling like a dragon.
