Work Text:
“She’s a warrior princess who solves mysteries.”
“A princess who is a warrior and also solves mysteries?” The publishing editor’s frown deepened. “Aren’t you asking for a little much?”
Mermista slammed the door. “Ughhhh! They are so. Incredibly. Annoying!” She melted into a poofy thing, looking at the ceiling Glimmer and her friends had painted pink. So eye-achingly pink.
“So I take it those publishers didn’t like Sea-Ra either.”
She scowled.
“Forget it, my dear Mermista, they just don’t understand talent.” Sea Hawk took his feet off the coffee table. “I think I know just what will take your mind off these scoundrels.”
“No shanties.” She put a pillow over her head.
Sea Hawk turned on a loud, fast-paced song. Was that—? Mermista rose. “Is that the Manatees? They’re, like, my favorite band.”
“Exactly!” Sea Hawk held his arm out. “Let’s dance!”
