Day 3 / Chocolate Day
February 9th, 2026
"Tomorrow's Chocolate Day!! I'm going to get Haru a lot of chocolates!" Towa exclaimed excitedly during one of his and Kaito's nighttime star-gazing moments.
"Why do you remember these things?.." Kaito asked, "Did you have to remind me?!" He then proceeded to say loudly.
Lucas had confessed on the first of February. The Chaos Combo was both the most popular duo and now also the most recently popular couple. People in the hallways kept congratulating Kaito. The only person who had congratulated Lucas for dating Kaito was Jin, Tohma, hell even the two Vagastrom first-years did.
Kaito still remembers the interaction with Leo and Sho vividly.
And now it was bugging Kaito more when he was tucked in bed, mainly because he was wearing one of Lucas's sweaters.
He tries covering his mouth with the sleeves, it smelled like Lucas. He tries curling up, smelled like Lucas. He tries sleeping normally, still somehow smelled like Lucas. Kaito was basically going insane from the smell.
The Archer dragged himself to his boyfriend's room, knocking on the door. He was holding a teddy bear Lucas had gotten him before they started dating.
The door opened to reveal Lucas just standing there, unfazed by the night, "Kaito? Aren't you suppose to be in bed?"
"I couldn't fall asleep because of your sweater, asshole!" Kaito exclaimed, pouting.
"Ah. Well, I suppose you plan on staying here for the night?" Lucas asked Kaito.
"Yep. Luca, why do you think I'm outside your room?!" Kaito replied, his pout deepening more.
Lucas just smiled at Kaito. The same smile that gave Kaito butterflies, "Kaito, you should've said that first." He stepped out of the doorframe, letting the shorter boy come in.
Next morning! Now Kaito has to make chocolates...
After Kaito ran around the whole academy looking for a cacao bean or something for 2 hours, he finally sat down at one of the tables next to a food truck.
Hold up, a food truck?? Sho?!
"Hey, you look down." Sho commented, leaning over his truck's serving counter.
"Where did you come from?!" Kaito squeaked out, flinching and jumping back immediately.
"That didn't answer anything." Sho simply said, "And you're literally sitting here in front of me so."
Now Kaito was thinking about how Jin would fucking kill him if he found out about his interaction.
Oh wait.
Kaito literally brought this upon himself by sitting at Sho's food truck despite him not knowing.
Sho blinked slowly, trying to gauge Kaito's expression, "What? Did you not have anything prepared for Errant?"
"Yes! Yes, oh my God how did you even guess that?!" Kaito exclaimed, shocked and a bit scared from the fact the first-year could tell.
"I have some left over chocolate from tempering if you need some?" Sho offered, ignoring Kaito's question, "Heard you're the Academy's other Baker."
"You would seriously do that?!" Kaito asked, surprised. He then paused, "Wait what would you give Mido then???"
"Alan?" It was Sho's turn to look surprised on why Kaito was asking that, "Oh, he'll be fine. All he wants to do is spar, keeps saying I don't have a stable form without telling me the problem." It was kind of a rant. Sho shrugged slightly, "Besides, I could probably whip something up if he did want something, though I think he's already content with dating me."
"Okay?..." Kaito replied, confused. He felt like too much information was just dumped onto him at once. He wasn't following along, he was still stuck on the offering chocolate part.
After getting chocolate from Sho, Kaito went to the kitchen where he and Towa usually baked in. He found some molds and sanitized them. Kaito grabbed some strawberry jam to put in the molds as well.
Kaito poured some chocolate on the bottom before putting the strawberry jam in. He then finished filling the mold with chocolate, covering the jam. Kaito waited for them to harden before drizzling on more chocolate on top. He did this until he had basically a whole box of them.
Kaito placed them nicely in a box. He wrapped the box up in pink and drew a small heart in the middle as well as "From Kaito" on the bottom.
He smiled to himself proudly before picking the box up gently and going to find Lucas.
The two both found each other by the fountain.
No one was there, probably because there were no classes and most students just stayed in their houses for the day.
"Kaito! I have something to give you." Lucas said with a smile on his face.
"Me too!" Kaito replied instantly. This was the first time he was actually prepared. This was also Kaito's first Valentine's Week with someone.
The two both handed each other chocolates at the same time. They stared at each other before bursting out laughing.
"Oh my God, Luca! I was panicking so badly!" Kaito managed to squeeze out between laughs.
"I can't say the same for me. I've had it planned since we became official." Lucas said after regaining his composure. He was quite quick to collect himself.
"Well, I guess we know which person is more organized!" Kaito commented. He was happy.
The sun casted a warmth on the two of them. It was a comforting moment between the two, also something Kaito would probably remember forever.
This was the first Valentine's Kaito wouldn't be spending alone, he now had Lucas, his trusty boyfriend.
