Kouta thought that he’d known everything about Darkwick.
They were tricksters and safety all in one, pulling the strings behind just about every incident about anomalies no matter how small. They only helped themselves and would use anyone they could to assure it stayed that way, all while preaching that they wanted to help those in tight spots caused by anomalies. They lied to those people, using them as puppets to take whatever they wanted.
But they were one of the biggest powers amongst the supernatural world, and that, in the end, made them safe. Safe enough he thought it might be worth it to put some level of trust into their faculty, if nothing else.
Turns out, even he hadn’t learned everything.
He really should have known better.

Imagine entering Darkwick Academy the same year as the current third year ghouls, became their investigator at the time out of pure chance, forming a deep bond that was considered irreplaceable , giving them support and advice to avoid them getting disciplined, basically becoming their anchor and haven only to abruptly isolate yourself after the clash and quitted the role as investigator stopped joining missions completely without a word.
