After earning their provisional licenses, Class 1-A is assigned to a month-long field mission to locate the League of Villains’ new hideout in the Shirakami Mountains. The task is simple in theory: map the area, eliminate possibilities, and report back. With few students being capable of matching Bakugou’s power, he is naturally paired with Todoroki for the semester.
The mission goes wrong when suddenly Todoroki and Bakugou find themselves stranded in the middle of the mountains with no map or any form of communication with the outside world.
Todoroki is an impenetrable ice wall none of the students have been able to break through, including Midoriya. He’s cold, rude, and only speaks when spoken to.
Bakugou never planned on getting involved, but he had never been good at ignoring problems that refuse to explode.Or, Todoroki never rejects his fire, and Bakugou is the first person at UA to get close enough to notice the cracks in Todoroki when they are forced to work together on their mission.

This is the fic for everyone who watched Thunderbolts and thought #notmyBucky. This is a redo of Secret Invasion, a story about assembling the *actual* Avengers, and a chance to give Sam the love and appreciation he deserves from the people around him. When I tagged this as "extremely Thunderbolts negative" I very much meant it, so please bear that in mind when reading!
