“Hmm… Maybe we could…no that wouldn’t work…”
”Well I could maybe make… no that probably wouldn’t work” Marcus sat at his kitchen table Valentine’s Day was tomorrow and yet he had no idea what he would do with Cog. ”I mean I could bake them a cake…I’m sure .” Marcus went to go look inside the pantry. And believe it or not but not a single cake ingredient was in there.
“You’ve got to be kidding me…Well I guess that just means I’ll have to go to the store later, But that just gives me time to pick out my outfit for tomorrow!
Marcus (after making a grocery list) Put a nice little outfit, in which he would wear for his date with Cog tomorrow, as he two had planned to meet at his house for their date. “well now that I’m done with that, I can go to the store and get the cake ingredients!”
Marcus put on a jacket he found in the closet and took a bus to the market.
Cog Coincidentally at the same time. Was also walking to the Market, as his uncle asked him if he could go get some groceries and despite having zero motivation to do so until he had promised to give him extra money to get something extra for himself.
Cog thought to himself for a second. “The more i think about it, Uncle Yohan was in a way better mood than usual, even if he is unbelievably cheerful most of the time…”
As he walked into the market, Cog took the crumpled list out of his pocket and look at it. “Alright let’s see…Eggs……Butter…Celery……Milk…That all seems pretty basic, Wait what does this…Neapolitan Ice Cream— Ok yep that checks out. Honestly why am I surprised.”
As Marcus was going through the aisles to make the cake he was going to bake. He thought to himself what flavor he should chose. Cog doesn’t really like Chocolate, and even if he would appreciate it it’d still be rude… Maybe I could make Them a strawberry shortcake! I’m sure they’d love that!”
As Marcus kept going through the aisle getting his supplies he noticed someone struggling to reach the top shelf in the Dairy section. To his surprise, it was Cog!
Marcus pushed his cart to the side and walked right behind his boyfriend before speaking up and saying sweetly,
“Need a little help?” Marcus said right before his boyfriend practically jumped out of his place. A bit caught of guard but happy to see his Boyfriend anyway.
”Yeah…” They said pointing to the butter that was on the top shelf. As Marcus grabbed it for them, he asked Cog what they was doing here anyways.
”Oh, My Uncle just asked me to go grab some stuff from the store.” Cog answered.
”And you didn’t object?” He asked a bit surprised as Cog had always seemed more agitated whenever talking to him.
”Of course I didn’t it’s not like he had to convince me!—“ Cog replied blushing a bit offended by the question.
Marcus raised eyebrow a bit skeptical that they weren’t telling the WHOLE truth.
”Ok fine he Did have to convince me, but i still could’ve decided not to!” Cog admitted. In to which Marcus responded with an endearing laugh. “Well what are you doing here?” Cog asked. Into which Marcus froze up. “Oh…Um… you’ll see soon! Gotta run, bye love you!” Marcus said before almost immediately running away from the conversation “Oh um… Love you too…”
As the next day came Marcus Freshen up getting ready for his date with Cog. The cake was almost ready, as it only needed to be frosted. So everything was going great. So Marcus after eating breakfast and getting dressed, got back on decorating the cake he had refrigerated overnight.
“And there we go! All finished. It took a lot of effort but I did it!” He said wiping the sweat from his forehead and looking at his cake he had made for his dear boyfriend.
Just then Marcus heard the doorbell ring.
”Ah that must be Cog!” He said humming as he went to go open the door
”Hello Cog!” He said opening the door for him.
”How’d you know it was me?” He asked smiling while holding a bouquet of roses he had gotten for him.
”I just felt it…” he said smiling as he dragged his partner into the living room.
”I got you some flowers, I’d suggest putting them in a vase but you can do as you’d like with them.”
”Awwww, thank you!”

”You know… I have a surprise for you too!”
Marcus went to grab the cake he had made before coming back into the living room.
”I hope you’re hungry because I bak—“ Marcus who felt as if he was on cloud nine unintentionally slipped backwards. Dropping the cake as he fell. Cog almost immediately got up.
”Marcus! Are you okay?” He said helping his boyfriend get out of the wreckage of the cake. “I’m fine…But the cake isn’t…” He said beginning to tear up. Cog almost immediately beginning to wipe the tears from his face.
“I’m sorry Cog… I just wanted to make you something special for Valentine’s Day and i ruined it!”
“Even if the cake…is on the floor that doesn’t mean I didn’t see all the love and compassion you put into it! It really shows you care not only about me but about our relationship! That’s what I love about you.”
Marcus’s face lit up… Seeing that Cog still appreciated his gift. Even if it ended up on the floor. “Thank you Cog…” Looking at Marcus’s face he noticed a bit landed on his cheek.
”Besides I’m sure I could still get a taste…if you let me.”
”I’m not letting you eat off the floor Cog…” Marcus said crossing his arms with the assumption of what his boyfriend was planning to do.
”No no…” Cog whispered something into Marcus’s Ear.
”Oh! Go ahead…~”
Cog then kissed Marcus’s right cheek getting a taste of the Cake that was currently melting on the floor.
”Mmm… Wait there’s some on your Mouth too—“
”OK THATS ENOUGH OF THAT!”
