Work Text:
“Sebek it’s time to get up,” whined Carlos as he tried to get Sebek out of bed. Normally it was the other way around as Sebek would try to get him out of bed for class. “What is up with you?” Carlos asked as he tried to grab the covers only to feel how cold Sebek’s body really was. “Dude are you alright? you're freezing under there," he warned as Till walked into their shared room.
“Sebek, have you got Carlos up–?” Till stopped themselves as they saw a sight that they were certain would never happen. “What did you do?!” Till added as they made their way to the 2 boys in front of them.
“I DID NOTHING?!!” Carlos shouted, making the others flinch at the new volume in the room.
“How are you louder than Sebek when he’s fully awake?” Till hissed as they looked over to Sebek who looked like he had fallen on the floor face first. “Looks like winter won this one, huh?” Till joked as they lightly brushed their hand on his forehead. “Okay looks like one of us will have to stay with him while the other goes to class,” Till replied, turning to Carlos.
“I call going to class,” Carlos said as fast as he could blink.
“Okay?... why?” Till asked as they grabbed a small towel to put on Sebek’s head.
“I’m not good at caring for others but I am good at taking notes,” Carlos added while they made their way to the kitchen to get some food and medicine for the sick croc.
“That’s fair,” Till replied, “fill this bowl with cold water while I make the food.”
“Alright,” Carlos did as he was told. It was still very early in the morning so it wasn’t as much of a surprise that they were the few only up, yet again if you room with Sebek you have to change your sleep schedule for the greater good. For a few moments the kitchen fell into a comfortable silence, only the sound of the kitchen ware and the running water, well that was till Carlos thought of something. “Do you think that he will beat himself over getting sick?” he whispered as he cut off the water.
“You and I both know he will but the thing is we can do something to make sure he doesn’t overwork himself….. again,” Till answered as they finished cooking, “Come on we have to go back before he tries to get up.”
“Right,” Carlos added with a sigh and a smile. When they came back into the room they saw Sebek trying and failing to stand up to try to put on his uniform.
“Just what are you doing?” Till scolded Sebek who looked like he needed to sleep for at least a 100 years.
“I HAVE TO GET READY–” Sebek tried to reason but that fell on deaf ears as he coughed at the end while the duo walked closer and guided Sebek back to the bed.
“No, no you should be resting,” Till added, for the first time in a while when sebek heard those words and it didn’t feel like they were trying to talk down to him.
“You clearly look like you need it,” Carlos commented which earned him a light hiss. “What? I’m just saying,” he tried to make the room less tense with a joke or two.
“I need to do my duties,” Sebek tried again to argue only for Till to raise up their hand to add that they would be taking care of that.
“Carlos will take care of classes and I will take care of your guard duties when he comes back from classes,” Till promised as they handed him the bowl of soup. Sebek must have made a face because Carlos laughed, adding that they made it not lilia.
“.....Thank you…” Sebek told them, slowly eating.
“It’s nothing,” Till said lightly, petting his head and walking out of the room. “Well I’ll be off getting Malleus his food now,” they remarked while working out with a smile.
“They're lucky that you're too cold to fight back,” Carlos sighed as he sat on the left side of Sebek’s bed.
“Yeah they are.” Sebek started quieter than normal.
“Well get to resting now, little croc,” Carlos hummed while he placed the wet towel on Sebek’s head.
.
.
“Alright what does Malleus eat?” Till whispered as they looked around the kitchen, “Maybe I could give him some ice cream? Nah who I’m I kidding Sebek would climb out of bed just to scold me on that.” They looked over their phone for any and all inspo they could use. “I guess I can make him some pancakes and french toast with a bit of fruit on the side,” they told themselves as they got to work, “yeah that will do it.”
It took about 40 minutes for Till to finally be finished with the food. “Alright now time to get him here to eat,” they started before remembering that Sebek brings Malleus’s food to him, “Damn it, well I guess I will have to make the trip, oh well.” They neatly placed the food into a tray and made a note in their best attempt of Sebek’s hand writing, after everything looked just like how sebek would have liked it they walked to Malleus’s room. It was darker and colder than the rest of the dorm, ‘geez sebek has been coming up here all winter,’ they thought when they were finally face to face with Malleus’s room’s door. They lightly placed the tray on the floor as they transformed to a small house cat. They looked like any other black cat, well if black cats had a glass eye and blue eyes but other than that they looked normal. Once they were happy with the way they looked they lightly scratched the door till they heard someone moving in the room. As they saw the door knob turning they moved behind the tray, ‘lets hope he likes cats,’ they told themselves as they saw the door open. Malleus looked around for a bit before Till got tired and meowed.
Once Malleus looked down he had to do a double take, “is… is that a cat?” Till had to try their best to not laugh before they meowed again. “Oh right, sorry little one,” Malleus added as he looked down at the food they were with. “Who made this,” he whispered as he picked up the tray to put inside. Till thought that was the end of that as they saw Malleus walk inside his room. ‘Looks like my job is done.’ “Come along little one,” Malleus called out to them as he held the door open for them to walk in. Till thinking back at the time they had at least an hour till they had to go back to their room so they thought they would indulge him for a moment. With that they walked inside the room, they shouldn’t have been as surprised as they were. The whole dorm was cold and dark compared to others. It would make sense for the housewares room to be the same but yet as Till walked in it felt like walking into a place that wasn’t even lived in yet. “I know that it is a bit cold but I'm sure it will get warmer soon,” Malleus tried to comfort them as he lightly picked them up and placed them on the bed. The bed was surprisingly soft from how stiff it looked from afar. After they got on the bed they walked in a circle or two and then sat down resting on the bed as they watched Malleus examine the food and note.
‘Yeah I kinda thought you would do that,’ Till thought as they just watched. After what felt like 5 minutes Malleus finally started to eat.
“Huh this is a bit too sweet to be Sebek’s cooking,” he whispered as he ate the pancakes.
‘Did he not read the note?’ Till asked themselves as they continued to watch him, ‘I should probably get going, Sebek never stayed this long.’ They were about to leave when Malleus picked up the note and started to pet them behind the ears. ‘You know what I can stay for a bit,’ they added as they let themselves lightly purr under the touch. (!!!!!!THIS IS PLATONIC!!!!!!)
“I wonder who Sebek trusted enough to make my food,” Malleus questioned as Till moved from their spot to his lap. “I’m sure that it wasn’t you,” he lightly laughed as he played with the cat, “but I bet you're their familiar.”
‘Yeah let’s go with that,’ Till said to themselves as they let themselves be happily petted.
“I wonder why I have never seen you before,” Malleus told them as he continued to eat. “I’m sure Lilia would have told me if there was a student with a familiar,” he finished, that statement alone started to make Till want to leave.
‘There will be no use to me if they find out I'm a shifter,’ they warned themselves as they started to get off Malleus' lap.
“Time to go already?” malleus lightly pouted as Till made their way to the door. Till only meowed in responses while the door was opened to reveal a happy Lilia.
‘Welp that’s my que,’ they thought before running out of the room and down the halls. As they reached the end of the first hall they could hear Malleus whine to Lila that he scared them off. Once they were somewhere that no one could see, which was harder now that more people were awake, they turned back into their “human” selves. “That was a close one,” they sighed as they made their way to their room again. After they walked into the room they saw that sebek was sound asleep, “well good to know that you got him to sleep without much of a fight,” they whispered as they took a seat next to the bed.
“Oh no there was a fight once he remembered that you were cooking,” laughed Carlos as he showed them a picture he took as he tried to get Sebek back to the bed. In the picture it showed that sebek was fighting for his life to get to that door.
“How did you get him to sleep?” they asked
“Well I may or may not have knocked him out and moved him back to the bed,” Carlos confided, he was now looking at the floor with a bit of guilt on his face.
“You know that the only thing that is keeping you safe right now is that he is asleep,” Till warned.
“Yup,” Carlos added as he walked out of the room, “well it’s time for me to go so bye, bye.~”
“Ugh what am I going to do with him,” Till hissed as they turned back to Sebek. For a moment they stopped and thinked, “well if he got up in an hour then he would try to get up but if there was something holding him down for a bit.” with that an idea sprung to their mind as they changed into a large leopard. “This will keep him in bed till Carlos can come back,” they quietly laughed while they got on sebek and started to take a nap.
Meanwhile with Malleus he looked down at the food left for him to eat and looked where the cat had just run off. “You scared them off,” he whined as lilia just playfully rolled his eyes.
“I’m sure you’ll find them later but it’s time for you to get ready for class,” lilia reminded while walking out the room. It only took him till the time that he got to the end of the hall did he remember that none of the Diasomnia has a cat familiar.
.
.
It was about lunch time before any of diasomnia big 3 to realize they hadn't seen Sebek all day. “Hey sliver, have you seen Sebek today?” Lilia asked as he looked over to the other first years to not see sebek with them.
“No I haven’t seen him today,” Silver yawned.
“It doesn't help that I didn’t see him this morning,” Malleus added, also looking around for his friend. “Do you think that any of his roommates know where he is?” That question got the others' attention.
“Wait where are they anyways?” Lilia looked around to see Carlos walking out of the cafeteria. “I’ll be right back,” he told them as he went after Carlos.
“Do you think they know where he is?” sliver questioned as he lightly fidgeted with his hands trying to calm the worry that was slowly rising in his chest.
“I’m sure if something was wrong he would have come to us,” Malleus reassured looking at where Lilia left, ‘i’m sure of it.’ he thought.
.
“Okay so I have all of our work for morning classes so I should give this to them before lunch is over,” Carlos whispered as he walked over to the main hall.
“Well where are we going in such a rush?~” Lilia questioned as he appeared in front of Carlos upside down.
“FUCK!” Carlos yelled trying not to drop all the notes in his hands.
“My, my was I really that scary?~” Lilia joked as he helped the boy pick up some of the papers that fell.
“Oh it’s you Lilia, sorry for the scream,” Carlos tried to save the last of their dignity.
“It’s fine but I do have a question,” Lilia continued, eyeing how the boy acted around him.
“Yes?” Carlos responded, raising a brow. It wasn’t normal for Lilia to really talk to him out of dorm activities, not like Carlos minded that. Luckily or better yet unluckily for him due to his unique magic, witch's stone, allowed him to see the “true” danger of someone. After seeing that lilia used to be a war general Carlos was fine with keeping his distances.
“Have you seen Sebek today?” Lilia asked. The question by itself sounded fine but the way that Lilia said it made Carlos double guess the meaning behind it. Not to mention the last time this happened sebek only needed to sleep for half the day till he got back to somewhat like normal sebek, but remembering how sick he looked it was most likely sebek would be there for at least half of the week.
‘Please don’t tell the others about this,’ sebek asked them the first time he had to stay in bed because of the cold.
‘And why not?’ Till questioned him looking at the croc up and down.
‘Yeah don’t they know how to help you better than us?’ Carlos added as he looked outside, the snow had almost covered the whole ground at this point.
‘I’m supposed to handle it better now and yet I can’t. My body still does this where I need to sleep a whole day now and then. Like I am some child, how can I protect malleus if I can’t even take care of myself on my own?’ Sebek told them, trying his best to look everywhere but at them. For once in their first year rooming together this was the most vulnerable Sebek had been with them.
With a sigh Carlos got up from his spot from the window and walked to the others. ‘Alright what do you need us to do when you're like this,’ he said trying to act like this was more of a problem for him than Sebek. Just then he could have sworn that sebek’s eyes lit up a bit but he knew sebek would keep that secret to the grave if he ever asked.
“Not since in the morning,” he told Lilia with a smile that didn’t look too forced. It wasn’t a whole lie so he would be safe…. Right?
After what felt like hours (it was 5 minutes) Lilia returned the smile as he patted the boy's head. “Well then don’t let me get in your way,” Lilia added with a smile that seemed too sweet for anyone to muster.
“Alright…” Carlos warmly told him as he walked away. Once he knew that he was alone he called Till. “hey Till you there?”
“Yeah, what's up?”
“I think you have to move sebek to our hide out so I can give y'all our work,”
“Alright, see you soon,”
“Yeah see you, bye.”
“Bye.”
With that Carlos ended the call and speed walked to their dorm. When he made it outside of the dorm instead of walking inside he turned to make sure he wasn’t followed by any bats then he walked to the side of the dorm and pulled out a small key with a button on it. He felt the wall for a bit before he found the hole. After moving the plants around the door he unblocked it revealing a small hallway. He was lucky he was more bone than meat as he walked through it, the hall wasn’t the main problem it was more the stars the hall lead to.
“You would think that someone who wanted to sneak around here would make it a bit bigger for these steps to fit.” he hissed as the door closed behind him, hiding like it was never there. “Alright time to go to our room,” he whispered, climbing the stairs that seemed to be better suited for an open area. After 3 minutes and a lot of turns he made it to their room as he knocked the other side open to Till holding Sebek like a princess.
“You know he will kill you when he gets better?” he asked them, looking at sebek that was looking at till with a death glare.
“Yeah I know but he can’t right now so lets just get going before something happens,” Till reasoned as they walked past Carlos and down the hall.
“Welp it’s not my funeral,” he sighed, closing the door. Unbeknownst to him after the door closed making it look like no one had been in there 3 more people walked into the room.
“He’s not here,” a voice whispered as if they couldn’t believe it.
“I’ll go double check everywhere else,” another voice reasoned as they ran out of the room. Just then thunder started to up roar in the distance.
After another 2 minute walk the trio finally made it to their hide away. As soon as Carlos opened the door, Sebek had enough energy to get out of Till's hold. “Okay someone is awake,” joked Till as they made it to their side of the room.
“Yeah yeah,” sebek hissed again to his normal self but the question was for how long.
“So how long did he sleep?” Carlos asked, opening the small fridge they had on the other side of the room.
“Would you believe me that he just woke up?” Till answered, grabbing their sketch book.
“You're lying, the whole time?!” Carlos exclaimed looking between the two in front of him.
“Yeah I'm not proud of it,” Sebek added, trying to act like it was a bad thing. To be fair it wasn’t the only reason that Carlos thought it was going to take the whole week was because Sebek had the knack to wake himself up while sleeping instead of letting his body rest like it needed.
“Well whether or not you think it is a good thing is one thing but it is a good thing,” Till told him as they threw him a small snack.
Sebek caught the snack, it was a small bag of fruit snacks. “I don’t want you to eat something just for you to throw it up later.” they said opening another snack for themselves.
“So did anyone ask for me?” questions that sounded more like a statement. The others knew the answer would make or break him. He had already thought he wasn’t a part of Malleus' close family but that was another day's problem to solve.
“Yes Lilia asked where you were during lunch,” Carlos answered him as he placed their work on one of the desks in between the two.
“Oh that's…. Nice of him,” Sebek replied as he started to eat the fruit snakes. After a while of silence Carlos started to talk about what happened in class today and what drama he could get his hands on. With that the 3 of them started to talk like they were in the lunch room not in a small room hiding from the outside.
.
.
After lunch Carlos went back to class as Till let sebek go back to their room for rest. “Can I trust you to stay in bed while I get something?” Till asked as Sebek rolled his eyes but nodded. “Alright I’ll be fast,” Till reassured as they went back to their hidden halls. After a few turns they made their way to the kitchen, they walked out and looked for any medicine to help sebek finish sleeping off what he needed to. They only stopped looking when they felt someone was watching them. “Can I help you?” they called out.
“Have you seen sebek?” a soft asked that they knew it was silver.
“No I haven't, why?” Till answered, turning to face him.
“Please tell me if you see him,” sliver pleaded, at that moment something in Till shifted. They knew why they weren’t going to tell him but it still hurt to see someone care for another so much when their family could care less about their well being.
“I… keep an eye out,” they responded as they looked around to see if there were any bats around. For once there was none around silver. ‘That's strange,’ they thought, looking around to see a few bats in the main room. ‘So I'll have to be careful there but besides that I'll be fine,’ they told themselves.
“Thank you,” sliver whispered. As he walked away from Till he turned to see till grab something and also left. When till was gone, Sliver walked over to where they were to see that everything was as it was before except for a small bottle that even his father didn’t know what was in it. A bat landed on his shoulder nuzzling sliver’s face. “I think Till knows something they don’t want to tell,” he said while walking back to class. With that the bat flowed back to lilia to deliver what silver told them.
Till walked outside till he was far enough to turn into a cat. They placed the medicine down along with their own version of a button key and put it through a string through the top hole and wrapped it around their neck. As they did they changed their fur color just in case they ran into Malleus again. Instead of a black cat they turned into a Maine Coon cat. ‘Not my favorite type of cat but it will do,’ they thought, picking up the medicine in their mouth and walking back to their room. What should have been a 2 minute walk turned into a ten minute walk, ‘this is so stupid,’ they wanted to hiss but continued walking. Right before they could turn to the hall of the first year’s rooms someone picked them up, ‘shit.’ turning to see who picked them up to see a familiar silver hair, “hello I don’t think I have seen you before,” he said with a soft tone that would have anyone trust him. Till would have melted into the softness if it weren’t for their mission they were on right now.
‘Nope, nope, nope,’ they thought as they started to try to get out of his grasp. ‘I don’t think sebek would think so kindly if I led him back to our room,’ they told themselves, trying and failing to get out of Silver's hands.
“It’s okay there's no need to run,” Silver tried to reassure but Till kept on moving till they dropped the bottle.
‘Shit,’ till hissed at themselves but the sound of the bottle hitting made silver's attention move from them for a bit. ‘Oh thank sevens,’ they prayed as they leapt out of his hands and picked back the bottle into their mouth.
“Hey come back here!” Silver tried his best not to yell at them but Till was already running back to the kitchen.
‘Looks like it’s time to lose him,’ they joked to themselves while they started to jump up upon the ledges to see where the small cracks were so they could leave. Silver was still on their tail as they slowly taped the walks to see a weak spot. At this point Till had climbed all the way up to at least 2 feet away from the ceiling still not finding anything, ‘honestly this is taking longer then I thought it would be,’ they thought finally feeling one of the weak spots.
“Get down from there!” Silver yelled as he looked around trying to find something to get them.
Turning back to silver they waited till his attention was off of them completely as he looked for a small blanket to catch them in if they fell but that was Till’s opening. Before getting into the hole they accidentally made a few of the broken stones fall. Once they were on the other side of the wall they made sure to get onto that ledge safely before climbing back down. The only thing they heard once they were on the floor was silver wondering where they went.
“Sorry silver but can't you finding out something that I promised to keep quiet about,” they sighed before walking back to their room. The walk was much faster now that they turned back to their “human form.” With a soft knock they unlocked their other door to see sebek doing some of the work that they would have to do later. “guess what I got,~” they hummed showing the bottle to the croc.
“Was it you the one that was causing all that ruckus earlier?” Sebek asked, eyeing them up and down.
“Maybe, maybe not, who knows, not me,” they answered, handing him the bottle, “also you owe me, professor crewel’s extra classes are a pain in the ass.”
“Language!” Sebek hissed which made Till roll their eyes.
“Common.” Till stated blankly with a sung grin. Sebek wanted to say something else but his body started to get tired to the point it would hurt to keep on fighting on this.
“You are lucky that I'm sick,” he warned as he chugged the drink. In a matter of seconds Sebek felt his eyes start to feel heavy. He walked over to his bed and laid down and started to softly snore. Till walked over and picked up the papers he was working on and put them in a neat pile.
Then they picked up the bottle and threw it away, “who knew that it worked that fast,” they joked not fighting the smile that was growing on their face, “i think that you’ll be back and at it by the morning if you keep this up.” They sat down near Sebek's bed and shapeshifted into a lioness, “good night sebek,” they whispered as they kept watch.
Meanwhile, sliver looked up at the hole Till crawled in, “how did you even get in there?” he questioned while turning back to go to class, “I'll ask father later.”
.
.
By the end of the school day Carlos wanted to do nothing but sit and watch over a sleeping sebek. (!!!\NOT IN A CREEPY WAY!!!) “Hey Carlos!” he heard someone call out to him as he walked back to the hall of mirrors.
“Yes?” he asked, turning around. He saw the other first years walk up to him a wave of relief washed over him, ‘at least it isn’t lilia or malluse,’ he thought.
“Have you seen Sebek and Till?” deuce questioned the boy with worry written all over his face.
“They’er fine, sebek just had a flare up today,” Carlos answered him watching the others faces calm down at the answer. “You can see him tomorrow if he still needs rest,” he added, trying his best not to be loud. Most of the other first years nodded their heads and told him to say hi for them on his way back. The others that didn’t go just yet had to go back to their dorms because it was late and they didn’t want to deal with their houseware’s wrath. With them gone Carlos went back to walking trying his best to not draw attention to himself.
“Ah there you are little one,” he heard the familiar voice, looking up he saw the person he tried to hide from.
“Hey Lilia,” Carlos replied, trying his best to not draw a sweat. ‘Out of everyone it just had to be me, huh?’ he frowned to himself.
“Do you mind if I follow you for a moment?” Lilia asked the boy watching the way he reacted to each statement he said.
“Yeah that’s fine,” Carlos told him, not really seeing what was the big deal. After 2 minutes the both of them fell into a comfortable silence, lilia watching over the boy and Carlos watching the things around him just to keep his mind occupied. When they made it to the hall of mirrors Lilia told Carlos that he had to do something but thanked him for his time. Once he was alone carlos looked around and sighed, “what the fuck was that?” Just at that moment he knew something wasn’t right but he didn’t have time to really think about it. He walked back to his room normally when he walked into the main room he saw a few rocks on the floor. ‘Sevens please tell me they didn’t draw attention to themselves,’ he hoped while he picked up the rocks. As he walked back to their room he could feel someone watching him. “Hello?” he called out to see malluse walk out of the shadows. ‘Ah hell nah,’ he thought
“Hello young one i have a question for you if you don’t mind answering,” Malleus told him.
“Yeah what can I do for you,” Carlos tried to calm himself while talking to malluse. ‘Thank sevens I don’t have to watch over him today,’ he reasoned, which made him calm down a bit but what didn’t help was the way the air around them changed to be more tense.
“Have you seen sebek today?” Malleus asked making the air around them stop for a while.
With a gulp Carlos answered, “no I haven’t seen them today.” ‘Stay calm Carlos, he isn’t cruel he wouldn’t kill you,’ he thought as he saw Malleus' face change a bit before turning back neutral, ‘okay maybe he will kill you if you say anything else.’
“Okay thank you,” malleus added as he walked away Carlos could have sworn it just started to rain.
“Right no more distractions before I get yelled at twice,” he reminded himself while he finally walked back to his room. When he got in he saw Sebek sitting down on his bed like a disappointed dad and Till shaking their head as they were holding in a laugh. “So what did I do now?” He tried to diffuse the tension.
“You damn well what happened,” Till told him, trying to keep a straight face.
“I guess that you know that I cussed already?” Carlos tried to get out of sight by dunking before he could get hit by a shoe, whose shoe? He couldn’t tell you.
“Why were you cussing like you were raised in a barn and around Lila nonetheless," Sebek argued, pinching the bridge of his nose. With that Carlos got back up to only have the other shoe hit him in the face.
“Pffft, Ha HA HA,” Till laughed, almost falling out of their chair.
“Shut up!” Carlos hissed getting back up and walking over to them.
“Well it’s time for me to leave, have fun you two,” Till waved them off while still wiping tears from their eyes. After they left Carlos turned to sebek who looked more like a disappointed dad then a 16 year old.
“You know it’s not bad to act like our age from time to time, right?” he tried to reason only to be met with a light scoff before sebek went back to sleep.
.
.
When Till finally finished laughing they were already outside of the dorm. Looking up they could see Malleus happily watching over the gargoyles. “Lets see who keeps Sebek on his toes all this time,” they whispered before looking around and turning into a raven. When they flew up there they could feel a light rain on their wings, ‘what's got him down?’ they thought when they landed a few feet away from them. After a few moments Till started to get bored but knew sebek wanted them to stay by his side the whole time he was out of the dorm so they did but that didn’t stop them from chirping a few songs they were working on little did they notice that Malleus wasn’t looking at the gargoyles but now at them. When they looked down to see if he was still there they were met with dark green eyes staring right into their souls.
After locking eyes for a bit, Malleus tried to call down the bird, “come on I don’t bite.”
‘You look like it,’ they warned themselves before getting closer. Now only a foot away from him Till wouldn’t let themselves get closer like before, after all they had to watch over him in the first place.
“Still so far?” Malleus asked, looking a bit more sad that they didn’t move closer. After he said that he looked around for a bit before sighing again, “where could sebek have gone, maybe he’s back in his room.”
“Chrip,” Till sang trying to get he mind off of sebek. ‘Nope, me and Carlos didn’t work this hard just for you to find him now,’ they thought as they tried to get malleus out of the dorm and into the college.
“What? Do you know where he is?” he asked, looking at them with slight amusement. With soft chirps Till led him to a small forest curling outside of the school. ‘Where is it?’ till told themselves as they looked around till they saw a soft gray color, ‘ah there it is.’ “what is it little one,” malleus questioned them, “did you find him?”
“Chrip!” till exclaimed leading him to a statue that looked like it was part fae and gargoyle. ‘Hope this keeps his mind off of sebek for a bit before nightfall.’ they hoped as malleus looked over the statue with such awe for a moment he didn’t look like the next king in line for anything but he looked like a teenage boy genuinely interested in something. ‘Is this the look that made Sebek want to follow him so much, till thought as they watched and waited for him to get bored.
.
Meanwhile with sebek and Carlos, sebek was trying to do some work but his body just won’t let him. “Sebek, I know you want to work right now but your body is literally telling you no,” Carlos tried to reason. Sebek didn’t say anything but just tried to hold his pen right without dropping it. Right before Carlos could step in, Sebek accidentally shot out some lightning from his pen. “Now I remember when I liked the day shift more than the night shift,” he sighed when he finally got the pen and opened the wall door, “Alright lets go before the others come up here.” after saying that he helped sebek up and walked though the wall door making sure to close it after getting in all the way.
“Should we just stay here?” Sebek whispered, still trying to fight sleep.
“Just for a moment,” Carlos answered while watching the main door. Not even 30 seconds later they heard a big bang in the room only to be left with 2 loud groans.
“I swear I just heard something over here,” a voice said while the other person walked out of the room. When they both left Sebek was sleeping against the wall. ‘You owe me for this,’ Carlos thought as he pulled Sebek to lean on him instead of the wall, “damn I knew you had mussels but sevens warn a guy next time.”
When the 2 people finally left the room Carlos opened the wall door and placed sebek on the bed. He also walked to the now slightly damaged wall and waved his wand over it to fix it up. After he did that he went to check on sebek again before starting on his own work on his desk. “Night sebek let's see who you're doing tomorrow,” he sighed as he finished his work. When he was about to turn in for the night he saw that sebek was shivering under the blankets, “I won’t have any more pride by the end of the year if this keeps up,” he added as he cuddled up next to him and fell asleep. (PLATONIC)
.
By the time Till came back to the room they saw both Sebek and Carlos sleeping soundly like 2 little kids. With a light laugh they walked over to the two of them and laid on the right of sebek, “today was a long day, hope tomorrow will be better.” with that they started to stare at the curling till they felt their eyes fall asleep.
