It had become annoying recently. Very annoying.
He wasn't sure what had started it, but he knew it was there. And he HATED it.
He hated that stupid smug smile his rival always had when he knew something he didn't, only for that something to jump out and attack him or blow up in his face or something. He hated the effortless way he made escapes from his best laid plans, which very often resulted in a painful (albeit temporary) demise. He especially hated how sometimes, times which had become more often than usual, he'd blow him a kiss as he faded out of consciousness, only to feel himself reawakened in that cold, uncomfortable respawn machine back at the HQ.
He hated it all.
And yet…
He couldn't help but love it all.
…
He sat in his office at the Black Embassy HQ, looking over his target, the same target he'd faced several times before. He couldn't get over that stupid face of his. That dumb smile of his. What he'd do to wipe that smile off his face.
The more he stared, the more he felt…uncomfortable. But it was like he couldn't look away. Why? Why couldn't he stop staring at his rival’s glassy eyes or his sharp suit or his pretty smile-
“Ugh,” he finally let slip, covering his eyes with his hand. This had to stop. He had to do something.
Fortunately, he knew exactly how to do it.
