Work Text:
Logan had stopped texting so that he could focus on studying, but knowing the reason didn't really soothe Virgil's anxiety any.
He hates you, the ever-present voice in his head hissed. You talked too much and now he's exhausted and sick of you.
Virgil resisted the urge to send frantic apology texts. He resisted the urge to beg Logan not to abandon him.
If Logan was growing sick of him, texts like that would only accelerate the process, and Virgil selfishly wanted to drag it out as much as he could.
On the other hand, if Logan wasn't growing sick of him, then the burdensome chore of reassuring the anxious Side would surely jumpstart that process.
In either case, Virgil was better off keeping his feelings to himself, so he set aside his phone and promptly broke down sobbing.
Why am I like this?
