Summary
After all that they went through together last night, the reports of Ghost being hostile to any human contact suddenly made no sense—he went from reading reports of injured guards and medical staff and fearing his own imminent harm, to realizing that Ghost was only reactive because he was scared… Johnny had been able to put his hands on, and even had his fingers inside Ghost at one point (to help free a stuck egg) all because he, as any fae researcher should, initiated the entire night on the premise of Ghost’s consent.
Were those reports really telling the truth, or was something being omitted? Something was definitely wrong. Ghost was gentle when he wasn’t fearing for his life at the hands of someone he couldn’t trust or that he feared and Johnny knew it. And all that progress with Johnny was just after one night of telling Ghost he had a say in his care.
Hopefully Zenith wouldn’t hinder that progress in any way, but there was only one path to go down to make that happen—direct confrontation.
