Work Text:
‟Katarinya, wait!”
Celestine gave chase down the narrow corridor. She found Katarinya barred at its terminus, cursing and jabbing an unresponsive cogitator panel.
‟I only wish to—”
The door ground open partway, then jammed. Katarinya darted for the gap, and Celestine leapt to block her.
They impacted with a clang, then stopped dead, entangled and inexorably wedged in the doorway. Katarinya's breath came hot on Celestine's cheek, her hat-votive flickering as she shook—presumably with rage.
Or perhaps something else entirely.
Celestine's heart beat faster at the possibility.
‟What a predicament,” she said.
She did not bother disguising her smile.
