    Once upon a time, the nine planets died. And then, the planets were resurrected as the first and only systems powered by death energy. And then the people were resurrected, with a select few given the gift of necromancy.

    Why? Well, because the Empress is just so kind!

    Ten thousand years later, Princess Leona Kingscholar, never-to-be-Queen of the Fourth House, is forced to take her niece's place in the quest to become an immortal servant to the Empress. Leona isn't expecting much to come out of it, and is quite frankly hoping that it'll be over quickly. Unfortunately, Leona should know better. After all, shouldn't a necromancer from the House dubbed "Hope of the Empress" realize the futility of unrealistic dreams?
